Jeni Britton is the creative force behind her eponymous brand, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, which has gained status as an American favorite over the last twenty years. From modest beginnings, she built an ice cream empire that is sold in over 12,000 stores and generates more than $125 million each year. Britton's journey is marked by creativity, determination, and a deep passion for flavor. Her latest project, Floura, showcases her relentless commitment to changing the way we consume food.

Growing up in a family that cherished food, art, and entrepreneurship, Britton's career path seemed almost preordained. While attending college, she worked at a French bakery and started experimenting with essential oils in ice cream—a quirky experiment that led to a pivotal realization. She abandoned her academic pursuits and fully committed herself to creating Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. What began as a personal passion transformed into a cultural sensation known for daring flavors like Brown Butter Almond Brittle and Gooey Butter Cake. Over the course of 20 years, she dedicated herself to the business, making it a household name. However, by 2019, she reached a breaking point and chose to take a step back to prioritize her health, a move that would inspire her next venture.

During her time of reflection, Britton recognized the life-changing benefits of fiber for her well-being—an insight she decided to share with everyone. This led to the creation of Floura. Launched in January 2025, Floura repurposes fruit by-products from food processing facilities into fiber-rich bars, combining sustainability with indulgence. Each bar features fiber from 12 different sources and comes in flavors such as Blueberry Matcha and Brambleberry Lavender, perfectly aligning with Britton's talent for creating delightful treats.

Floura is initially available directly to consumers and at Pop Up Grocer, marking Britton's comeback to the entrepreneurial scene with a mission centered on health as well as flavor. Tune in to the latest episode of Second Life to discover how Britton remains a visionary in the world of flavors.
