This month, we had a conversation with Nico Parker. The 20-year-old actress became a global ambassador for the luxury French beauty brand, Lancôme, at the end of 2024, and we were fortunate to connect with her earlier this year to discuss her favorite makeup products, best beauty advice, and her go-to perfume.
1. Which beauty product lifts your spirits the most? A good fragrance really enhances my mood. Right now, I’m loving Ô Zenith from the Lancôme Les Ô collection, as it quickly boosts my confidence.
2. If you could borrow anyone's makeup bag, whose would it be? That’s a tough one! I'm constantly inspired by new people in the makeup world. At the moment, I’d choose Celia Burton, who has done my makeup for various press events recently. She always has these unique new products that I fell in love with.
3. If you have a blemish, do you pop it or leave it alone? I’m technically a leave-it-alone kind of person, but I often struggle to stick to that.
4. If you could use only one product for the rest of your life, what would it be? Lancôme’s Lip Idôle Squalane-12 Butterglow. I’ll sing its praises forever. Any shade, any time—they have the most beautiful sheen and finish. I’ve yet to meet anyone who hasn’t instantly loved this product.
5. What do you do on a bad hair day? I’d love to offer some practical advice, but honestly, I just want to cry in frustration.
6. Strong lip or strong eye? Both are great, but not at the same time. However, if you feel confident doing both, go for it! Personally, I find that if I don't tone it down, I can look a bit Gollum-like quite quickly.
7. What’s your favorite nail color? Nude. It may be boring, but it’s reliable. Red is also an option, depending on the season.
8. What’s your favorite lipstick shade? It really depends on the rest of your makeup. I often choose a mauve-brown tone, but I also enjoy a pink nude that complements my natural lip color.
9. What’s your biggest beauty no-no? You don't need to overdo it with black eyeliner just because you're a teenager. This isn't a blanket statement; some people carry it off wonderfully. But I remember when I turned 13, I thought I needed to use it all the time, and I ended up looking like a raccoon. Give yourself time to find what works for you instead of hiding behind makeup. It took me a while to realize this.
10. Candles, reed diffusers, or nothing at all? I’m definitely a candle person. I love scents and how candles add warmth to a room. Candlelight is among my favorite types of lighting.
11. If you could give one piece of beauty advice, what would it be? Less is often more.
12. What beauty product would you recommend to everyone? I can’t stop recommending Lancôme mascara, almost to the point of annoyance. There isn’t just one specific mascara; it varies based on your lash type and what suits you best. My current favorite is the Lash Idôle Flutter Extension Mascara, but I was very loyal to the Hypnôse Mascara for a while. I feel a bit disloyal.
13. Name one beauty product you always carry in your handbag. Lip balm. I can’t live without it. Lip liner is a close second.
14. Describe your brows in one word: Trying their best. It’s not just one word, but that sums them up quite well.
15. What’s the best drugstore product for under £10? I believe tweezers are essential. They’re not just for beauty; they’re more of a practical tool.
16. Are you team dewy or matte? I’m team dewy! That may be because my skin leans oily, so I’m not sure if it’s natural or learned, but I embrace it.
17. Makeup primer: love it or hate it? If you have a solid moisturizer or skin preparation routine, it serves a similar purpose. Is that a controversial take?
18. Time for a confession—how often do you clean your makeup brushes? I take pride in cleaning my brushes somewhat regularly. It’s
