Anyone can become Ded Moroz: how a foundation brings fairy tales to life and gives blind children faith in miracles
The "Illustrated Books for Little Blind Children" Foundation is taking part in the charitable campaign "Kind Christmas Tree" for the second year in a row, proving that a true New Year’s miracle is possible when caring people come together. The campaign runs from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026 — the most magical time of year, when it is especially important to give warmth, care and attention to those who need it.
"Kind Christmas Tree" is an opportunity for anyone to become Ded Moroz (Father Frost) and fulfill a child’s cherished wish. The campaign’s beneficiaries are clients of Moscow NGOs: children and teenagers from low-income families, children with health limitations, those left without parental care, as well as children of participants in the special military operation. For them, society’s support is not just a gift, but a sign that they are not alone.
The foundation’s chairperson, Tatyana Degen, emphasizes the special significance of taking part in the campaign:
"‘Kind Christmas Tree’ is a wonderful opportunity to join an important cause and help make children’s dreams come true — children who vitally need our attention and support. Even a single gift can change a child’s world for the better."
This year, thanks to the foundation’s participation and the support of sponsors and benefactors, three children received a truly unique gift — a set of special books with a pencil that brings the drawings to life. Such a set takes reading to a whole new level: the text becomes more accessible, the illustrations come alive, and the stories are even brighter and more "loud" for a child’s imagination. These are not just books, but a developmental tool that helps blind and visually impaired children discover the world, learn and dream.
The wish category was educational materials and books; the approximate cost of one set is 10,000 rubles. For some people it is a sum of money, but for a child it is a window into a world of knowledge, imagination and joy.
Thanks to the foundation’s sponsors and benefactors, a truly good deed was accomplished and a real New Year’s miracle was created. The foundation’s participation in the "Kind Christmas Tree" campaign once again confirms that systematic charitable activity changes lives, and that care given at the right time remains in a child’s heart for life.
The magic continues — and each of us can become part of it. Become part of it.
