Earlier this summer, Leandra Medine Cohen shared a photo showcasing her feet adorned with a pair of rubber Havaianas flip-flops, complementing one of her many intricately layered and frequently shared outfits. While it wasn't her unique approach to wearing a silk scarf or her talent for styling a sequin skirt for school drop-offs that caught attention, it was the diamond ring she wore on her toe that stood out. The author and Substack writer collaborated with the NYC luxury brand Aflalo to launch a line of fine jewelry specifically designed for toes, rather than the usual spots like wrists, necks, earlobes, or fingers. As the summer went on, other brands like Chan Luu and Simuero began to support the revival of toe rings. Almost overnight, this accessory, which hasn't been seen in our jewelry collections since the early 2000s, was becoming a trendy staple for the summer of 2025. As if we needed more debated footwear trends (with flip-flops, mesh shoes, and "sneakerinas" already causing a stir), toe rings reentered the cultural conversation and created even more style divisions.

      Leandra Medine Cohen was the first person I noticed who brought this quirky foot accessory to our attention, but like many unconventional trends she endorses, it didn’t take long for me to come around to the idea myself.

      The main approach involves pairing a bold toe ring with simple black thong sandals, allowing the accessory to take center stage (or should I say, take each step?).

      Transparent sandals, such as PVC and jelly styles, serve as the perfect backdrop for a striking toe ring to shine and gain recognition.
