As a fashion enthusiast standing (proudly) at just 5'0", I believed I would always need to hem my pants, including jeans. During high school and college, I frequently shopped in the little boys' section because those were the only options that fit my thighs and hit my ankles correctly. However, that phase didn’t last long; my body changed after I reached adulthood, making it impossible. After several years of discovering what suits my smaller and curvier shape, I began shopping wisely. Hemming each pair of pants, particularly jeans, is not only 1) quite costly but also 2) quite tedious. Recently, trying on jeans in stores has transformed from a chore into an exciting adventure. I encourage everyone who feels uncomfortable in their bodies, whether petite or not, to shift their perspective, as it simplifies the process. GU, Uniqlo’s sister brand, offers another very affordable pair of jeans that I reach for on days when I prefer a loose, relaxed fit. I usually style this pair with T-shirts and jackets. They are lightweight but durable, featuring pleats at the front that add a chic touch to any outfit. I do cuff them, and I believe they look even better that way.
