I Finally Managed to Get the Pants That All the Stylish New Yorkers Are Wearing Instead of Jeans.
We’re now ten months into 2025, and taking a moment to consider the evolving fashion scene, one thing stands out: jeans are no longer the focus, and trousers are experiencing a significant resurgence. This year, fashion insiders are replacing denim with more fluid silhouettes, largely thanks to Leset. Fashion editors and influencers spanning Paris, London, New York City, and Los Angeles are turning to Leset for its effortlessly stylish pants. The brand has found a distinct niche between casual loungewear and sophisticated ready-to-wear, demonstrating that comfort and elegance can coexist. Even celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, and Dakota Johnson—essentially every A-lister you might aspire to emulate—are fans of this Los Angeles-based label. Whether they’re off to a meeting, the airport, or a local farmer's market, these insiders opt for these trousers, styling them with everything from sweaters and flats to t-shirts and sneakers.
A key reason Leset has garnered such a dedicated following is the remarkable versatility of its pants. Offering a variety of silhouettes and materials—from sleek pull-on satin options perfect for dressing up to structured cotton poplin styles for a more tailored effect, and stretchy knit designs that transition effortlessly from home to the streets—there's truly something for everyone. Since Leset's inception in 2019, I've been following its ascent and the now-iconic pant styles, particularly the brand’s bestselling core silhouettes: Barb, Kyoto, Lauren, Margo, and Yoshi. I've consumed countless reviews, watched numerous try-on sessions, and saved countless Instagram posts and TikTok videos. Yet, until now, I hadn’t managed to try them myself—primarily because they often sell out moments after restocking. I decided to leverage my workplace perks to connect with the brand and request my five favorites. Continue reading for my impressions of these pants and find out why the desire for them grows each season. The best part? They’ve just been restocked, so if you’re interested in a pair, act quickly.
**Leset Lauren Pants**
My review: I would say the Lauren is the most popular pant style from Leset. Why? Over the years, the brand has crafted new versions while keeping the name and essence of the original pants intact. For instance, there are the Lauren Wide-Leg Pants, Lauren Crop Drawstring Pants, Lauren Crop Pleated Pocket Pants, and regular Lauren Pocket Pants, which I've had the chance to try. These pants are made from a soft, crêpe-like material that flows beautifully with every movement, giving off an upscale vibe. The design is both functional and comfortable, featuring an easy pull-on style with sleek side slit pockets and a soft elastic waistband that embraces without feeling restrictive. While the brand suggests sizing up, I'd recommend going down a size due to their tendency to run large.
Size range: XS–XL

**Leset Margo Pants**
My review: As I sit on my 15-hour flight to Hong Kong writing this, I am actually wearing Leset's Margo Pants. With so much time on my hands, I’d like to share my thoughts on them. One way to describe them would be essential. If, like me, you’ve been on the hunt for elevated sweatpants, such as the Rag & Bone Miramar pants that don’t resemble traditional sweatpants, then these are the perfect solution.
The silhouette is identified as straight-leg style, but it’s somewhat relaxed with a subtle shape similar to a barrel-leg that narrows at the ankle. The waist features a comfortable medium-elastic band, and there are pockets both at the front and back for those who appreciate practical details. The fabric is a cozy cotton blend that feels luxurious yet keeps me warm, even with the airplane’s AC blasting. I styled them with a shrunken crewneck sweater and ALO Sunset Sneakers for my flight, but they could also match well with a more polished ensemble, like a white tee, leather jacket, and pointed-toe flats for a dressier look.
Size range: XS–XL
Color options: One
Material: 100% cotton
Sizing tip: Size down
**Leset Barb Pants**
My review: I may have slightly misrepresented earlier when I claimed that all pant styles had been restocked—this isn’t true for the specific Barb Pants I tried on. The pair I received has a high waist, pleats, large pockets, and an elastic waistband only at the back. They are essentially traditional trousers but possess a more refined, draped silhouette and an overall luxurious appearance. What makes them truly noteworthy is their satin material, which feels like sumptuous silk, and this fabric is consistent across all Barb styles. The fabric is thick enough to ensure opacity yet remains
