I’m allocating a $600 budget for beauty products in 2026—here are the "worth-it" investments for my shopping...
I understand that many of us had to be more mindful of our budgets in 2025, and with inflation still a reality, this trend is likely to persist in 2026. Although it may seem that your beauty regimen will take a hit because of this, there's no need to fret. As a beauty editor, I've refined the ability to create an effective routine that yields results without breaking the bank. One beauty category I always rely on is K-beauty, which remains favored year after year for its efficient, innovative, and affordable formulations. When I aim to keep costs down, that's my go-to source. Whether it’s serums, milky toners, or acne-friendly moisturizers, Korea really covers it all.
On the other hand, even while being budget-conscious, I always try to carve out a little space for a bit of luxury because sometimes, we just need to indulge ourselves. Whether your beauty budget is tight for 2026 or you have some flexibility to splurge, I’m sharing my shopping list for both categories this year. For some must-have items under $30 as well as luxury products that are worth the investment, read on.
### The Under-$30 Beauty Items I'm Investing In
**Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream**
If you have sensitive skin like I do, this light gel-cream moisturizer will become your go-to this winter. It’s fantastic for addressing redness, dryness, and breakouts simultaneously. With niacinamide to help diminish dark spots and strengthen the skin barrier, Centella asiatica extract for soothing irritation, and one of my favorite ingredients, beta glucan, which aids skin recovery, it's a perfect investment at only $22 if you need a solid moisturizer on a budget.
**Celimax Noni Energy Ampoule**
This Celimax serum is essential for those who desire radiant, hydrated, and healthy-looking skin. It effectively combines 150 types of antioxidants found in noni extract to shield the skin from environmental stressors and minimize signs of aging. It also helps lighten dark spots and provides exceptional hydration without any heaviness or clogging of pores. This serum is perfect for anyone who prefers a simplified routine without spending excessively on skincare and gives a glow so impressive that others might assume you're using a high-end product.
**IUNIK Beta-Glucan Barrier Sunscreen**
Korean sunscreens are top-notch in my opinion, and this one is one of my favorites. It contains beta glucan, great for calming redness, fighting skin damage, and preventing acne. Its creamy texture applies more like a moisturizer than a typical sunscreen, and it leaves no white cast—an added bonus for my fellow Black and Brown individuals.
**ANUA Heartleaf 77 Clear Toner Pad**
Managing acne can be quite challenging if you have sensitive skin, but numerous Korean brands have excelled in creating formulas for this skin type. These pads are the best I’ve tried for quickly clearing clogged pores and blackheads without causing burning or redness. Many products claim to be "gentle enough for daily use," but this one truly is! Heartleaf extract calms irritation while gluconolactone (a gentle PHA) unclogs pores.
**Hask Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner**
It never ceases to amaze me that this deep-conditioning mask, rich in argan oil, is just $3 for a pack at Target. After using it a few times a week for a year, it has significantly improved my curly, coarse hair. It isn’t too heavy, and each pack contains enough product for two to four applications, depending on your hair type.
**JVN Complete Air Dry Cream**
I’m currently obsessed with JVN products. I was taken aback by how well this cream worked on my curly, low-porosity hair, as I assumed it was better suited for straighter hair types. It’s the perfect styling cream suitable for all hair types, lightweight yet effective at smoothing frizz, adding definition, and delivering shine to my curls.
**JOSIE MARAN Everybody Wash Now! Moisture Mousse All-Over Cleanser**
Truthfully, I’ve been a loyal user of Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash for over 20 years, so switching to something new isn't easy. However, after trying Josie Maran's creamy, hydrating, and pleasantly scented formulas a few years ago, it has a permanent place in my shower routine. I adore all of Maran’s products, but this body wash’s texture is heavenly, providing just the right moisture and lather without requiring a ton of product.
**Naturium KP Body Scrub & Mask**
I gave this a whirl a year ago and ended up loving it so much that I used it completely. While it is potent, it’s incredibly effective for rough skin, body bumps, and body acne. After just one use, it cleared congestion on my arms. It
