I’ve worked as a Beauty Editor for six years and have relied on these "timeless" products from the very beginning.
To say that I've tried numerous beauty products throughout my career would be an understatement. After over six years of writing about beauty, my experience with skincare, makeup, and haircare products is likely in the hundreds by now. While it may sound excessive to put my highly sensitive skin through all of this, my passion for beauty drives me. There's nothing quite as exhilarating as discovering a new, transformative beauty essential—sometimes you need to kiss a lot of frogs to find that gem. Although not every product has been a hit, I do have a strong list of ones that have worked well for me and continue to do so. From daily essentials I've relied on for over a decade to newer favorites, I've put together a list of the best beauty products I've encountered in my journey so far. If you also deal with sensitive skin (or even if you don’t!), you’ll want to keep reading. Below, I'm sharing the absolute best.
**Bioderma
Sensibio H2O Micellar Water**
This classic drugstore micellar water has been my go-to for years. There were times when my skin was in terrible condition, and this micellar water was the only product I could use without causing further irritation. I still rely on it for makeup removal and as the first step in a double cleanse. It effectively removes makeup and impurities without clogging pores.
**Neutrogena
Gentle Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover**
I have been committed to this Neutrogena eye makeup remover for more than a decade. I've experimented with other options, but I always return to this one. Despite being oil-free, it has a wonderfully silky texture that effortlessly removes mascara and eyeshadow. Plus, it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes, which is a significant benefit.
**Shani Darden Skin Care
Cleansing Serum**
My skin tends to be both congested and dehydrated, which isn’t ideal. Finding a cleanser that wouldn’t strip my skin yet cleansed effectively was always a challenge. This gentle, hydrating formula from celebrity aesthetician Shani Darden is my top choice in that category. It’s smooth, doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry, calms inflammation, and provides a radiant glow afterward. I'm obsessed and have used it since I discovered it as a budding beauty editor. Even if you're not acne-prone, it's an excellent staple for all skin types, including dry skin.
**Danessa Myricks
Yummy Skin Serum Foundation**
As a longtime admirer of acclaimed makeup artist Danessa Myricks and her eponymous line, I have high standards for foundation. This particular formula meets all my criteria. I've used it for years because it's smooth, creamy, applies beautifully, is non-comedogenic, and keeps my skin hydrated for hours. My issue with most foundations is that they often dry out my skin, highlighting texture and fine lines as they settle into creases. However, the serum-like texture of this foundation consistently impresses me, remaining smooth and beautiful even after hours of wear.
**Patrick Ta
Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo**
I fell in love with this blush from the moment it launched and still reach for it often. No one was surprised by the quality of this Patrick Ta formula, and I enjoy using his "cream over powder" technique with it. It allows the blush to blend seamlessly and instantly gives a fresh, sun-kissed appearance.
**Anastasia Beverly Hills
Brow Wiz Ultra-Slim Precision Detailing Eyebrow Pencil**
I'm serious when it comes to brow pencils. Without a good one, I find my brow routine becomes even more challenging. This classic product has never failed to impress me. It’s user-friendly, especially for those of us who aren’t brow experts. It's forgiving, so mistakes can be easily corrected, and it looks natural while lasting for many hours.
**Thrive Causemetics
Liquid Lash Extensions Tubing Mascara**
This Thrive Causemetics mascara is my all-time favorite tubing formula. Mascara is quite a personal choice, as everyone has different preferences; however, I can share why I'm so enamored with this one. It adds significant length and volume without clumping or smudging after a couple of hours. I've noticed that many mascaras tend to get messy after being open for a month or so, but this one maintains a "stiffer" consistency that I appreciate. It secures your lashes in place without making them feel sticky or crunchy. The downside is it's not the easiest to remove at night, but a few swipes of the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover do the trick.
If you have extremely sensitive skin and are prone to acne like I am, you understand that you can’t be careless with your skincare. My skin only responds well to formulas that are simple, effective, non-comedogenic, and most importantly,
