Voice of the Moscow International Film Festival: a bright quote from Maria Lemesheva, reflecting the spirit of the festival
The Moscow International Film Festival is an amazing film forum where new names emerge and, moreover, where the imposition of sanctions has created an opportunity to see films from countries whose cinema was previously known only to specialists. This applies to films from African countries, Latin America, and of course, BRICS. By the way, two films participating in the Moscow International Film Festival had previously contended for the "Diamond Butterfly" award; as a member of its expert council, I watched them, and they made a great impression on me! I was also pleased with the opening ceremony. The evening outfits on the red carpet were not hindered by either the cold or the rain. Indeed, "The celebration will take place in any weather"! I am very happy that the first award of the festival—the "I Believe. Konstantin Stanislavsky" prize for conquering the heights of acting mastery—was awarded to the brilliant Sergey Bezrukov. A year and a half ago, I presented him with our "Event of the Year" in the special nomination "Star of the Year," and I can only applaud the decision of the festival's organizing committee! By the way, the very next day, as part of the festival, another award from the magazine "KinoReporter"—the "Advance" award—traditionally takes place, which we have been presenting to the brightest young actors for 15 years now. And for me, it is very important and pleasant that among the guests of our ceremony, members of the jury and participants of the Moscow International Film Festival are invariably present, strengthening the connection between generations and cultures.
