My Summer Wardrobe Focuses on Skirts and Dresses—39 New Styles I'm Excited to Purchase.

      One aspect that has surprised my fellow fashion editors the most about me is that I don’t currently possess any jeans. To clarify, I have worn and owned jeans throughout my life, just not in recent years. Instead, I tend to prefer skirts and dresses, and my summer style reflects that choice. During the warmer months, I find myself attracted to natural fabrics such as cotton and silk, as they provide a lightweight and breathable feel in hot weather. Last spring and summer, some of my go-to outfits included Cou Cou’s pointelle and cotton-voile midi dresses, as well as their coordinating tank-top-and-knee-length-skirt sets.

      As a minimalist who often opts for neutrals, I have been seeking ways to add more color into my wardrobe, especially after receiving a color analysis from The Color Countess. I discovered that I’m categorized as a true autumn, meaning that rich, earthy fall shades like tomato, orange, terracotta, moss green, teal blue, mulberry, and others complement me best. I believe that a solid-colored dress or skirt is an easy and accessible way to infuse more color into an outfit. For instance, I recently purchased the Olas cotton midi dress from the Sydney-based brand Faithfull in a tomato hue, which still maintains a polished and chic look. I also adore the mix-and-match tank tops and skirts from the Newcastle label Olga Joan. Below, you can shop for skirts and dresses for summer 2026.
