As a Beauty Director with elevated expectations, these 7 products have become my favorites this month.

I have a bit of a reputation among my fellow beauty directors for being selective about the products I choose. In fact, I would say I'm quite relentless in my standards. Although I receive countless new beauty items each week, the number I’m willing to actually use on my skin and hair is very small. They must include the right ingredients, the right texture, high usability, and, importantly for my preferences, an aesthetic that aligns with my tastes. My skincare routine is minimal and straightforward; my daily makeup application should take no more than two minutes, and my haircare routine mustn't require any waiting time. When you consider all these factors, it’s easy to see why so few products meet my expectations—and as summer arrives with its heat, I become even pickier.
For this reason, I was pleasantly surprised last month to finish seven beauty products—items so exceptional that I used every last bit, even though the heat made me feel like I could only apply ice-cold water. So, here’s my selection of products that have proven themselves during the heatwave:
1. Anua Rice 70 Glow Collagen Mask
As a journalist tasked with reviewing beauty products objectively, I can be quite critical of popular items. Although I had heard good things about these K-beauty sheet masks from the Korean brand Anua, I was skeptical. However, after trying one for the first time a few weeks ago, the results were undeniable. After leaving this ceramide-infused mask on my face for two hours, my skin appeared healthier, more radiant, and fuller than ever. While dedicating a full hour to a face mask may seem lengthy, every moment was worthwhile. I highly recommend you try this sheet mask; it will genuinely impress you.
2. Tom Ford Oud Wood Candle
Key notes: Oud, sandalwood, rosewood, eastern spices, amber. While summer might not seem like the ideal time for burning rich, woody candles, let me explain. I insist on having a candle lit whenever I'm home, as I love my flat to have a luxurious scent. With the heat outside and all my windows open, I need my candle to be potent. This high-end candle, while smoky and intense, has a spicy warmth that works perfectly in warmer temperatures. Lighting it on a summer evening transports you back to wandering through Moroccan souks at dusk, with the aroma of incense, firewood, and spices filling the air.
3. Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Eyebrow Gel
Before I share my affection for this product, I must mention that my brows are quite distinctive. They’re thick, coarse, long, and jet-black, and I dislike grooming them. Therefore, my brow gels must offer substantial hold and be quick to apply. This formula is among my top favorites. For one, the clear gel remains non-flaky and doesn't turn white—something that’s not as common as you'd think (true to its name). Then there's the spoolie, which is fantastic. One side has longer, denser fibers to lift the brow hairs, while the other has shorter fibers for feathering. The result is well-groomed brows that stay in place all day without looking overly styled.
4. Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment
I’ve previously expressed my admiration for Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment. In fact, I described it as the best “serum” I've ever used, and I still uphold that claim. I apply this powerful exfoliant to my acne-prone skin three nights a week and have been doing so for about 18 months. Even after all this time, I continue to wake up with exceptionally soft skin. This treatment is absolutely crucial for maintaining my glow and keeping breakouts at bay. You can bet I opened another bottle the moment I finished this one.
5. Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Toast
It’s no surprise that I own a Rhode phone case—it's a rite of passage for beauty editors. Consequently, I go through Rhode Peptide Lip Tints like they’re nothing. I apply this softening, plumping lip treatment at least ten times a day, and the glossy, taupe finish makes me feel put together. It truly is the best tinted, glossy lip balm for everyday use.
6. Diptyque L'Eau Papier Cleansing Hand & Body Gel
Key notes: White musks, mimosa, blonde woods. I take great care in choosing my sink-side hand washes. Not only does a luxurious hand wash bring joy to my day, but I also relish the compliments from guests regarding my choice. This one, which can double as a body wash, is perhaps my top addition to the sink so far this year. It has a creamy and comforting scent that provides a soothing experience every time I use it.
7. Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm
I am quite passionate about cleansing
