While many in New York deemed this flat trend as "outdated," Parisians continue to sport them everywhere.
During my visit to Paris last month, I paid close attention to the outfits of those around me. I find that there’s nothing more inspiring than observing the fashion of the women from this French city. Though it may sound clichéd, they truly have the art of looking effortless down to an exact science. No matter where I looked, the most fashionable women appeared stunning while seeming as though they put in minimal effort.
One thing that quickly stood out to me was the prevalence of red ballet flats, a trend that became notably popular a couple of years ago thanks to Lily Rose Depp’s promotion of the style. I thought I had grown weary of them until I saw the flat in a fresh context. I immediately rushed to the Repetto store to buy a heeled pair made of glossy siren red leather, and I haven’t regretted it since.
Red ballet flats are incredibly versatile; they can complement any outfit. They add a touch of elegance to a pair of loose jeans and enhance the vibe of a quirky skirt. Their ability to elevate an ensemble makes them a worthwhile wardrobe investment. Contrary to what’s popular on the streets of New York, French women demonstrate that these shoes are far from outdated.

Sorry, but we worry they're eternal.
