I work in social media—these six fashion trends are officially taking over everyone's algorithms.
Working in the realm of social media has its advantages and disadvantages. One drawback? My screen time tends to be excessive. Typically, my workday kicks off with an hour or two of scrolling through TikTok, Instagram, X, and Substack. A personal advantage for me is that I can easily identify recurring themes or trends across these platforms, making it simple to highlight the season's top trends—let's call it productive doomscrolling.
When I was a full-time editor, it was easy to convince myself that certain items were "trending" after browsing runway collections, but in reality, they often did not resonate within the market or on social media. However, now I can take a step back and truly observe what’s resonating with people. While I enjoy a quirky trend from time to time, it’s beneficial to discern which styles will actually find a place in your wardrobe. (Looking like runway Prada would be amazing—maybe in another life.)
To help you keep your screen time in check, here’s a roundup of six wearable fashion trends currently taking over the algorithm. I’ve noticed them styled in numerous ways, so if you choose to shop these this spring, you’ll certainly get your money’s worth.

Thanks to Phoebe Philo, funnel-neck coats were a standout in fall 2024. As we transition into spring, this buttoned-up silhouette remains popular but is available in lighter jacket versions.
- COS: Funnel-Neck Bomber Jacket
- & Other Stories: A-Line Funnel-Neck Jacket
- ASOS Curve: Funnel Neck Cape Back Trench Coat
**Powder Pink**

We reported that powder pink dominated the spring runways, but color trends don’t always translate to what sells. Spring typically showcases all pastels, and this soft shade seems particularly appealing to many.
- J.Crew: Alpaca-Blend Oversized Sweater T-Shirt
- Wilfred: Twirl Pleated Skirt
- Aligne: Sophia Fitted Blazer
**Woven Totes**

I’ve spotted Dragon Diffusion bags popping up on my feed over the years, but their popularity has surged in 2025. I picked up a woven tote from a market during my trip to Mexico City, but if you can’t travel, there are many options online.
- Madewell: The Handwoven Shoulder Bag
- Dragon Diffusion: Santa Croce Big Woven Leather Tote
- Anthropologie: The Hollace Tote: Woven Mini Edition
- Zara: Woven Effect Bucket Bag
**Silver Pendant Necklaces**
It appears that nearly every fashion Substack features this Juju Vera shell pendant or a variation of it. I completely understand the appeal, as it adds a unique charm to any outfit I’ve seen. I’m not quite ready to spend $490 on a necklace, so I found a shell necklace on Etsy to quench my shopping urge.
- Juju Vera: Petra Shell Pendant
- Heaven Mayhem: Pebble Necklace Silver/Black
- Ben-Amun: Andrea Cord Pendant Necklace
- Moon Forest Jewellery: Silver Large Shell Pendant Necklace
**East-Meets-West Bags**

Is there any handbag shape more significant than east-west bags right now? This silhouette appears much more elegant compared to slouchy or boxy styles. The top choice remains Alaïa's Le Teckel, though brands like Coach and Freja offer fantastic options at a more accessible price point.
- ALAÏA: Le Teckel Medium Nubuck Shoulder Bag
- Freja New York: Mini Chrystie Bag Espresso
- Coach: Empire Carryall Bag 34
- JW Pei: Nova Baguette Style Shoulder Bag
**Suede Sneakers**
As a sneaker enthusiast, I always had difficulty finding a refined option to pair with the more sophisticated pieces in my wardrobe, like blazers, satin pants, and button-down shirts. Thankfully, brands like Miu Miu and Dries Van Noten are bringing sleek suede sneakers to the forefront of fashion.
- Zara: Soft Athletic Sneakers
- Nike: Cortez Se Leather-Trimmed Brushed-Suede Sneakers
- Alohas: Tb.56 Suede Brown Leather Sneakers
- Dries Van Noten: Suede Low-Top Sneakers
