The long-anticipated sequel to Freaky Friday is set to debut in theaters on August 8, 2025—22 years and two days after the original film. Titled Freakier Friday, this Disney reboot will see the return of stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Chad Michael Murray, and Mark Harmon. New additions to the cast include Vanessa Bayer and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

The synopsis from Disney provides insight into the sequel's plot: "The narrative resumes years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) faced an identity crisis. Anna now has her own daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they deal with the various challenges that arise when two families unite, Tess and Anna realize that lightning might indeed strike twice." Check out the first trailer for Freakier Friday below.
