And if there’s a celebrity that has an affinity for trendy sneakers, it’s Jennifer Lawrence. While she may not be the only one, she certainly favors retro sneakers, and we report on it frequently. Speaking of Adidas’ talent for crafting fashionable sneakers, the brand often revives styles from its vast archives. Before the Samba craze of 2023, you might recall the immense popularity of Stan Smiths and Superstars, but I doubt any style has been as widely accepted as the Sambas. However, with such popularity comes a sense of weariness, and shoppers are now seeking the next fashionable sneaker that isn't as ubiquitous yet is gaining attention daily. It appears that Lawrence has tuned into this trend. While out in New York City this weekend, she was seen sporting a pair of black Adidas Taekwondo sneakers. This minimalist slip-on design (which also comes in a lace-up variant) was originally made for the Tokyo Olympics and takes inspiration from martial arts footwear. It’s trending alongside Adidas’ Tokyo and Japan sneakers, but with the influential Lawrence now donning the Taekwondo style, I anticipate a significant increase in orders for this particular model.
