I have been involved in the fashion industry for 18 years—here's what I'm currently obsessed with this month.

Welcome back to my monthly newsletter, Personal Shopping. For those who missed the first issue, let me give you a brief overview. I have spent 18 years in the fashion industry and I’m particularly selective about my purchases. I've experienced more trends than I've had Pret croissants (and that’s saying something), and I understand that everyone has unique tastes, needs, and preferences. I can’t declare something a “must-have” for everyone (in fact, I dislike that term), but I can guide you to some reliable recommendations. Personal Shopping focuses on brands, products, people, and ideas that I think are noteworthy. Additionally, feel free to ask me anything regarding style, and I’ll do my best to respond to your queries through this newsletter. Just submit your questions via Instagram at @whowhatwear.uk or send me a direct message at @hannahalmassi.

This month’s highlights include a trench coat that stands out from the rest, the little details that elevate my simplest outfits, and an answered burning question.

      1. I CAN’T STOP RAVING ABOUT: Sezane's Clyde Trench Style Notes: While I doubt Sienna Miller and I have much in common, we definitely share one opinion: Sézane’s Clyde Trench is absolutely perfect. I purchased it last summer (before Miller, I should mention) and it consistently garners compliments. As Morgane Sezalory, the founder of Sézane, puts it, “It combines timeless trench design and features with effortless Parisian flair. Its relaxed, oversized fit is flattering on everyone and lends itself to versatility… and despite its vintage-inspired look, it remains fresh and modern, crafted from high-quality organic cotton for comfort and durability.” From its swingy A-line cut to the checked lining, this coat is chic and easy to style. Each season introduces new color options, and there’s even a cropped version, Scott, for those who prefer something shorter.

      2. UNDER THE RADAR - ACCESSORIES Style Notes: There’s a saying that shoes make the outfit. However, I believe it’s the more unique accessories that truly transform a look. In a conversation with our assistant social media editor and author of the monthly column Gen Z Mood, Annie Wheatland-Clinch, we agreed that 2025 is shaping up to be a great year for accessories, with fun options available everywhere. I’ve found a few lesser-known brands offering small items that are elevating my wardrobe right now.

      Shop Niche Accessory Brands:

      Cubitts

      Eastcastle Glasses

Cubitts: When I first learned I needed glasses, I was disheartened by the “designer” frames available at my local optician. A decade later, I’ve amassed an eclectic collection of opticals! My latest find is Cubitts, which offers high-quality, stylish, and relatively affordable designs in various colors, sizes, and tweaks to fit your face.

      DÉHANCHE

      Revenge Embellished Leather Belt

Déhanche: Spending this much on a belt felt like a big gamble, but anyone who knows me understands I can't get dressed without a waist belt. So, consider the cost per wear! Handcrafted in Italy, these heavy hardware belts use sustainably sourced leather and are favored by the fashion crowd right now—though I know I’ll enjoy this piece for many years to come.

      TBCo

      Merino Triangle Scarf

TBCo: I completely borrowed this find of the ideal triangle scarf from our fashion editor, Remy Farrell. This Scottish brand excels in making fantastic bed linens, homewares, and pajamas, but this adorable scarf is a perfect finishing touch for outfits!

      3. ASK HANNAH ANYTHING (regarding style) (Image credit: Getty Images) “How should you style a belt if you’re petite?” Hannah responds: "You’re in the right place @francesdianaa (thanks for your question on IG!). I believe belts are a petite person's best friend, and nearly every one of my outfits features one. Here’s my advice: try to belt around your waistline for balance (meaning a low-rise hip belt can unfortunately shorten your legs visually), and choose styles that aren’t too wide. Belts are currently trending (as noted above), so experiment with different styling options—from cinching oversized blazers to enhancing high-waisted denim or smart skirts. Look to petite celebrities like Zoë Kravitz and Bel Powley for added inspiration."
