I can recognize a viral product when I encounter one, and these new $190 eyeglasses are poised for immense popularity.
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I have a sunglasses collection that’s unmatched. My $15 black Wayfarer frames from a souvenir shop on Canal Street are just as cherished as the designer sunglasses I’ve splurged on. If you have any fashion sense and you’re plus-size, you understand the significance of accessories in elevating an outfit. While I might not fit into the latest trendy designer skirt, I can enhance my look with shoes, handbags, sunglasses, and other accessories that give me a polished appearance. Enter Heaven Mayhem: the beloved direct-to-consumer accessories brand founded by Pia Mance. Although it initially launched with vintage-inspired earrings, Heaven Mayhem has evolved beyond a jewelry label; it now offers belts, watches, and, most importantly, sunglasses. Currently available in three styles—Margaux, Sloane, and Vittoria—these shades evoke a classic sophistication reminiscent of an era when sunglasses were crafted with intention and substance. Let’s be honest—vintage sunglasses are always ahead, but these Heaven Mayhem pairs raise the bar.
I realized Mance and her team had something special when I met with the brand at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Over martinis and shared fries, she revealed that they were expanding into eyewear. The Heaven Mayhem girl, as Mance describes her, wants it all—the Instagram-famous earrings, chic laptop cases, classic belts, and now, sleek sunglasses. The entire brand embodies a cool sophistication, so the introduction of sunglasses was a natural progression. After seeing all the styles at dinner in January, I immediately gravitated toward the optical Sloane frames. They’re not completely clear (they have a faint yellow tint that’s more noticeable in person than online!), yet they still convey the same chic vibe as the tinted versions. Despite my loyalty to daily contact lenses, trying on these frames during our dimly lit dinner had me ready to call my optometrist to order prescription lenses.
First impressions: they’re impressive.
Since then, I’ve eagerly awaited the release of the Sloane sunglasses. Their style strongly resembles Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic orange-tinted lenses that he sported throughout his life, paying tribute to the glamorous opulence of the '80s. Last season, Bella Hadid donned a similarly eerie pair during the Saint Laurent show, intensifying my infatuation with tinted optical lenses.
Here are the details: The Sloane glasses retail for $190 and are crafted from heavy acetate (no need for a sunglasses chain—these won’t be easily blown off!). The top of the frame is straight and angular, offering a retro look without being outdated. Above all, they resemble luxury sunglasses from major designer brands. Nowadays, a quality pair of designer sunglasses can easily surpass $600 before tax. Priced just under $200, the Heaven Mayhem sunglasses are quite a bargain.
Although this image is in black and white, the coolness exuding from Yves Saint Laurent and his yellow-lensed shades is palpable. Bella Hadid pays tribute to the late designer during the brand’s Spring-Summer 2025 show.
It’s not just me. While I was captivated by the Sloane sunnies at first glance that night in January, I tested the entire collection over the following days. My colleagues at Who What Wear also joined in—trying out the brand’s luxury-looking aviators (Vittoria, likely named after model Vittoria Ceretti) and the petite, L.A.-approved style, Margaux.

"To put it simply, I’m a bit of a sunglasses snob. I attribute this to my Florida roots, but the truth is I enjoy being a little incognito at all times. It’s challenging to find oversized sunglasses that don’t overwhelm your face, but these fit my oval face shape perfectly. I appreciate that the lenses aren’t completely black, allowing a glimpse of my eyes. The chocolate brown hue feels more special than the standard black pair I usually favor. Consider these my new go-to shades for spring." — Aniyah Morinia, Branded Content Fashion and Beauty Editor.
"I wouldn’t typically lean towards a square-shaped frame, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I instantly adored these glasses. They have a subtly tinted yellow lens, making them feel more like eyewear than sunglasses. They’re the ideal accessory to complement everyday basics like a cardigan or t-shirt, adding a little something extra, especially on gloomy days when you don’t need significant sun protection." — Michaela Buskin, Branded Content Fashion Director.
"I’m usually cautious about trying new sunglasses brands, but when I learned that my favorite jewelry and accessories brand, Heaven Mayhem, launched a line of sunglasses, I knew I had to give it a try. I picked up the Sloane sunglasses, and even just holding them, I could tell they
