This SPF 30 product, enriched with chardonnay grape-seed oil for a glossy—not greasy—finish, quickly became a bestseller. As an added perk, it boasts an incredible fragrance, prompting customers to plead for the brand to create a perfume with the luxurious beachy scent. Now, fast forward to 2025; Vacation has finally answered with its Grand Cuvée Eau de Toilette—a yacht-inspired scent that promises to be a summer favorite. After trying it before its launch, I can attest that it has the same intoxicating aroma as the aforementioned SPF oil—indulgent, warm, and slightly enigmatic. I can't help but think if The White Lotus cast had a signature fragrance, it would be this sophisticated potion… or perhaps I'm just projecting my anticipation for the season finale this weekend. It also has a subtle sweetness from vanilla bean, chardonnay, and peach eau de vie, but it’s more juicy than overpowering. True to Vacation's whimsical spirit, Grand Cuvée also includes fantasy notes—conceptual scents that aren't naturally occurring but contribute to a unique and thrilling fragrance experience—like sun-washed sails, sun-kissed skin, and sabered champagne cork. If those elements make you raise an eyebrow, I understand. (I had the same reaction to the "pool toy" note in Vacation's original fragrance blend.) However, it’s not just clever advertising; the brand uses sophisticated synthetics to transform these abstract ideas into tangible fragrance notes. Picture the cotton-like scent of canvas billowing in the breeze, the saltiness of ocean-kissed skin, and the hint of citrus from a freshly opened bottle of champagne. Somehow, Vacation has encapsulated these aromatic wonders.

Apologies, but they tend to be a bit too seasonally obvious for my liking! However, I couldn’t resist the idea of that teakwood-decked yacht, so I gave it a spritz. Let me tell you, this is far from your standard vacation-themed solar scent. It feels refined and luxurious, emphasizing argan with very understated oceanic notes. Despite its origin from a sunscreen brand, it doesn’t evoke "sunscreen" at all. When I wear it, I imagine myself clinking glasses at a fancy boat party on a laid-back summer evening, channeling Chelsea from The White Lotus—glitter lids and all.
