With the launch of her new homeware collection in collaboration with Marks & Spencer, Kelly shares insights into her signature interior design style, ways to infuse luxury into your home, and her sources of inspiration.

How would you define your personal interior design style? My style can be described as balanced and harmonious, featuring a neutral foundation complemented by deep, rich colors. Focused on purity and simplicity, my approach aims to create effortless spaces designed for living.

If we visited your home on an ordinary day, what would we likely see? Our home is very tidy, which I love—it’s warm, welcoming, and filled with texture. Lighting plays a vital role, creating an atmosphere that beautifully changes throughout the day. I always have fresh flowers in the space, which brings the outdoors in and adds vibrancy. It’s a home that feels cherished and lived-in, adorned with wonderful art and design pieces I’ve gathered over the years.

Which aesthetic style, era, or vibe resonates with you the most? There are many, but I am consistently drawn to Eastern aesthetics. I enjoy blending the old with the new—mixing timeless, classic elements with modern touches to craft spaces that feel both rooted and effortlessly contemporary. I consistently incorporate fresh flowers to revitalize the space and add liveliness.

What initially drew you to the house you currently reside in? The chance to completely transform it—since it needed a total gutting, I could rebuild it according to my vision. For me, that’s the ultimate dream. Additionally, the abundant natural light is a highlight!

What are some of your favorite rooms in your home? I cherish every room in our home, which is how it should be. Each space flows into the next without interruption. However, if I had to choose, our kitchen holds a special place in my heart, as that's where I discovered my passion for cooking.

Whose interiors do you often screenshot for inspiration? I have an extensive Pinterest board filled with stunning places, details, and design elements that inspire me.

How do you update your interiors for each season? It’s all about texture and flowers. Each season specializes in reinventing the space rather than overhauling your home. This can be done by acquiring new items, introducing different fabrics, layering soft furnishings like cushions and throws, and adding seasonal flowers for a fresh energy.

As remote work becomes increasingly common, how important is it to curate a workspace at home, and what inspires yours? Personally, working from the kitchen table is just as effective as having a dedicated office space. Everyone will have different workspace requirements, but the key is to find an area that suits your needs.

As the founder of your own prominent interior design brand and numerous successful collaborations, how would you encapsulate the classic Kelly Hoppen look, and why do you think it has endured? I believe it’s because it feels real and approachable. It’s grounded in a neutral palette that allows for personal adaptation. My signature style frequently includes backgrounds of soft, pale colors paired with luxurious textures—like the distinctive cushions that have become synonymous with my brand.

As an interior designer, you’ve worked in various types of spaces. Where do you find your initial ideas? Among my greatest sources of inspiration are music and fashion. My travels also serve as the ultimate muse—each destination leaves me feeling inspired, both consciously and subconsciously.

Regarding your furniture and lighting collections, how do you begin the design process? With my furniture and lighting lines, such as the one I recently launched with M&S, I design with both the shopper and the space in mind. My goal is to create pieces that not only enhance a room but also resonate with those who will use them.

What would you suggest implementing in a home to create the right mood, energy, or ambiance? Declutter! It may be a cliché, but it rings true—clearing space leads to a more organized mind, fostering balance in life.

What are some standout pieces in your homeware collection? I have so many favorites. The new tabletop is fantastic—it’s unique, functional, and easily fits into any environment. I'm also enjoying the new throws and cushions. My marble collection is another highlight, along with the mirrors, which always add elegance to any room. Honestly, I love everything!

Do you have any tips on antique, vintage, and second-hand shopping? Visit markets and experience everything in person rather than online. It's part of the excitement!
