Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape: A New Dimension of Secluded luxury Bali vacation

Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape is the first of its kind resort of the Banyan Group brand, setting a new direction in the field of sustainable tourism. Located in the north of Ubud, surrounded by jungles, rice fields and sacred rivers, it embodies the concept of “no walls, no doors” — an architectural and philosophical approach that breaks down the boundaries between man and the outside world.

The project was developed in collaboration with architect and expert on sustainable Balinese design Gede Kresna, as well as the chief architect of the Banyan Group, Darmali Kusumadi. It took 8 years to implement: three years for design, five years for construction.

Each villa is located taking into account the terrain (the height difference on the site is 132 m) and panoramic views of the seven Balinese peaks. The structures are inscribed into the landscape manually, with maximum preservation of trees and natural forms. The resort is surrounded by sacred rivers and a waterfall in the place of Champuhan — a place connected by

      A space without borders

At Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, each bale (villa) combines open living areas with panoramic views and a sense of total fusion with nature. The Naked Experience concept allows guests to feel the world around them without filters — just sounds, light, wind and time. There are hidden Hideaway Spots located on the territory — secluded corners for meditation, reading or just deep relaxation. They invite you to stop, slow down, and feel the moment.

The center of the resort has become the Open Kitchen and Living Room, open gastronomic and lounge spaces designed to restore the feeling of real human communication. Here, guests can learn how the resort is rethinking its approach to nutrition, combining the principle of "zero waste", local products and traditional cooking methods. The resort's menu consists of 70% plant-based dishes, and most of the ingredients are purchased within an hour's drive from the location.

The resort's program includes daily, weekly, and monthly events that help guests explore three main themes.: connecting with nature, personal discoveries, and inclusion in the local community. Guests can participate in independent and curatorial activities, discover local rituals, take part in festivals and practices with invited masters.
