The Shoe Trend I Frequently Notice in West Hollywood (Particularly on Melrose Place)

      The outfits worn by celebrities in Los Angeles don’t always align with what local residents wear. Public figures are acutely aware that they could be photographed when they leave their homes, so they often dress accordingly. In contrast, everyday people like us don’t have that concern. However, when I saw Kirsten Dunst's outfit during a shopping trip on Melrose Place in West Hollywood, it struck me that her look matched what locals would typically wear for such an outing (including myself). Admittedly, her ensemble featured designer items, but similar pieces are available at various price ranges. Dunst paired a striped tee and corduroy pants from The Row with a red Louis Vuitton shoulder bag and vintage white Chanel sandals. Whenever I'm out in West Hollywood, I notice women sporting similar white strappy sandals with thick straps throughout the year. While minimalist sandals with ultra-thin straps have become popular, they aren’t always the most comfortable choice. Thicker straps are much more practical for shopping on Melrose Place—especially since you might need to walk back to your car if you weren't one of the fortunate few to find parking on that busy street.
