From the Mirabel to the Ischa, this Californian brand offers dresses that radiate sophisticated romance, adding an ethereal yet mature touch to summer attire. With styles that accommodate all body types and designs that are both fresh and timeless, DÔEN has captivated us (as well as celebrities like Taylor Swift and Sofia Richie Grainge). Thus, upon hearing rumors of a potential new DÔEN collaboration with Gap for summer 2025, I struggled to contain my excitement.

      The second Gap X DÔEN collection features 32 pieces, catering to diverse tastes with classic prints, eyelet details, and reimagined denim essentials, as well as matching sets and, of course, ideal summer dresses. DÔEN stays true to its beloved silhouettes, from the shirred Marianne Dress flaunting a striking floral print to the Coralie with its charming buttoned-shoulder detail. You can look forward to refined iterations of some of Gap’s best basics, resulting in a thoughtful mix of nostalgia and modernity. Prices range from £25 to £180, and we anticipate a quick sellout.

      1. **Linen Gingham Maxi Dress, £180**

       **Style Notes:** The first dress I tried on, and immediately loved, was the Linen Gingham Maxi Dress. For me, its shape perfectly merges the Rosalinda and Ischia dresses, reimagined in a gingham pattern with shorter, slightly puffed sleeves. These sleeves create a lovely silhouette on the arms, offering enough volume to elongate without being overwhelming. The dress is fitted with an enclosed zipper on the side that cinches you in.

       Crafted from 100% linen, it has a light, airy quality that's perfect for warm weather. The scoop neck features a tie detail above the bust, allowing for fit adjustment, ideal for a comfortable wear. As a true UK size 10, I generally opt for a medium, but this one was a small. I was initially worried about the fit, but it turned out to be perfect. I consulted DÔEN enthusiast and Who What Wear UK editor-in-chief, Hannah Alamassi, who advised sticking with your usual size, as DÔEN dresses typically adhere to standard UK sizing, and this collaboration with Gap might offer a tad more room. At 5'10", the dress fell just above my ankles, so for shorter individuals, this is something to consider.

       I would style it casually with loafers and a spacious tote for a day at my creative office (though I do realize the cut may not suit everyone's office environment). For the weekend, I'd pair it with Puma Speedcats and a crossbody bag for city exploration on a warm day.

       **Style Notes:** Another immediate favorite! This blue-and-white pajama-style set is one that I can envision wearing repeatedly, especially as the temperatures rise. It embodies all the characteristics of a classic Gap co-ord, infused with DÔEN's signature elegance and romantic flair. Noteworthy design elements stood out, such as the vertical rustic label on the shirt and a charming emblem stitched at the center of the shorts, adding a touch of sophistication to otherwise simple pieces. Both items were in size small (I usually opt for a medium), and the shirt had ample room for an intentionally oversized fit.

       The shorts, however, felt a bit snug in a small. While they were still wearable for me, they fit closely. I recommend sticking to your usual size for the shorts or even considering a size up, based on your desired fit (I'd personally go up for added comfort). The most appealing aspect of this two-piece is its versatility. I would wear the complete set with mesh ballet flats and oversized tortoiseshell sunglasses for a feminine lunch, or style it with thick-strapped sandals while on holiday. The shirt alone would make an excellent cover-up for the beach, especially if you stick with your typical size or go up one for extra movement and length.
