J. Law and Ashley Olsen Concur: This $33,000 Bag Is More Stylish Than a Margaux
If there were ever two individuals capable of persuading me to spend $33,000 on a handbag (instead of, for instance, a car, a down payment on an apartment, or an extensive trip to Italy), it would be Ashley Olsen and Jennifer Lawrence. Both have exceptional taste and have been seen with a bag that retailed for that exact price: The Row's incredibly rare alligator Lady Bag. Is it more stylish than the brand's much more renowned Margaux bag? I would argue yes, as its exclusivity enhances the appeal of the top-handle design. Whenever the Lady Bag is showcased, it stirs things up in the handbag industry. So, when Lawrence dined with Dakota Johnson in New York City this week, her brown alligator Lady Bag in hand, fashion insiders were thrilled. It’s not the kind of bag you carry just anywhere; it's reserved for special occasions, and an evening out with friends certainly qualifies as a notable event. Lawrence's outfit from Sunday night bore some resemblance to Olsen's the last time she was seen with her black version of The Row's Lady Bag. As one of the founders of The Row, Olsen has access to the best pieces from the minimalist favorite brand, including its rarest items. She paired her Lady Bag with an oversized black trench coat from the same label and Mansur Gavriel black flats. Much like Lawrence's, her bag was the highlight of her look.
