Sabrina Carpenter Just Gave Us the Summer's Hit Song (and an Enigmatic Prada Lip Product)
Summer doesn't officially commence until Sabrina Carpenter gifts us with her annual catchy tune. We don't set the rules! Fortunately, the Grammy Award-winning pop artist has just released her newest single, "Manchild," accompanied by a captivating three-minute and 56-second music video that we can’t seem to stop watching. It's truly a masterpiece. Naturally, the glam is flawless and very much in line with Sabrina Carpenter's style: bouncy curls, playful lashes, and a nod to Prada Beauty. (She famously used the brand's Color Changing Lip Balm in last year's "Please Please Please" music video and the Soft Matte Lipstick in "Taste.") However, this time, the product is a bit more subtle, but we've managed to uncover some intriguing details. Keep scrolling for more exclusive insights.
The video opens with Carpenter hitchhiking beside a desert road and quickly shifts through scenes of her journeying in various vehicles with different (albeit all ineffective) men. At the 1:17 mark, there's a moment where she drinks from a wine glass while munching on Prada-branded banana candies, a playful reference to the fashion house's iconic banana print. Although brief, our beauty-editor instincts immediately noticed the Prada candy bag sitting innocently on the car's dashboard while Carpenter's companion does a quick jig in the background.
While the specifics of the unreleased item she’s alluding to remain unclear, we can exclusively reveal that it belongs to the lip category. Could it be a banana-inspired launch? Carpenter's previous collaborations have quickly become essentials for beauty editors (the Pradascope Mascara is fabulous!), so we can only assume this one will be similarly adored and talked about.
Recall that when she featured the pH-adaptive balm in the "Please Please Please" video last summer, it sold out across all retailers within 72 hours. Therefore, we suspect whatever lip product she’s hinting at will undoubtedly fly off the shelves. We also anticipate it will be sleek, ultra-luxurious (after all, this is Prada), and ideal for those long summer days, especially since it’s showcased alongside a track that "feels like a never-ending road trip," as Carpenter puts it.
For now, check out the rest of Carpenter's "Manchild" glam, except for those secret lip details. Stay tuned—once we have more information to share, we'll be sure to let you know before the unnamed product inevitably sells out. To echo the pop icon, people will "always come a-runnin'."
