Forget about trends; I always prioritize these "outdated" dresses.

Summer, is that you? My diary is already filling up with events, and I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect outfits to match each occasion. For my very first Chelsea Flower Show, I opted for a linen suit—I just couldn't bring myself to wear a floral dress, as I tend to resist the norm! The team organized a wonderful dinner at Mimi Meifair to celebrate our inaugural Beauty Issue, which called for a stunning gown (more details on that below). I celebrated the Roksanda X & Other Stories collaboration in a stylish two-piece from the collection, and I caught an exclusive preview of another collaboration, Monsoon by The India Edit, for my monthly dress column, which I absolutely adored! I hosted a live shopping segment from H&M’s showroom, which you can rewatch (and shop from) right here. It’s been a bustling time filled with new-season outfit inspirations, so keep reading to find out my latest recommendations. Remember, you can ask me anything about style, and I’ll do my best to answer your queries in this newsletter.       Here’s What I’m Loving This Month

      1. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF: Vintage-Look Dresses

Style Notes: Back in my twenties, I’d spend almost every weekend (often hungover) searching the best vintage stores in Brick Lane, East London, for unique secondhand finds. My wardrobe was mainly filled with intriguing pieces from the ‘60s and ‘70s, mixed with a few high-street buys and the occasional designer item. As life has progressed, so has my availability, waistline, and energy for spending hours hunting through dusty stores for hidden treasures. That’s why I’m grateful to have several go-to brands that offer vintage-inspired dresses made from modern (read: less sweaty, synthetic) fabrics that fit well, last longer, yet still capture that timeless appeal of a “dated” silhouette. Here are some of my favorite brands and their specific offerings:

      Shop Vintage-Look Dresses:

      - Rixo makes effortless summer dresses that always fit well (in my size!) and are easy to wear, day or night.

      - If you’re looking for a whimsical cotton dress, check out Californian brand Dôen for a multitude of options (which I can’t stop buying). The Ischia style is the best—trust me.

      - Queens of Archive

Bianca Dress: They’re perfect for more dramatic evening looks (like the mimosa-yellow Bianca dress I wore for our recent supper club).

      - Ghost

Lillie Lace Trim Satin Dress: Ghost has been my go-to for bias-cut, slinky satin dresses since the ‘90s. I own more of these than I care to admit!

      - If Only If is your best choice for nightgown-style dresses that resemble antiques but aren’t falling apart or a century old.

      - Réalisation Par

The Claudia Dress: For chic slip dresses, it-girl brand Réalisation Par is always a top choice.

      2. UNDER THE RADAR: My Jewelry Favorites

Style Notes: While I’d love to own a Juste Un Clou from Cartier or a Serpenti watch from Bulgari (hint, hint), the reality is that my jewelry collection includes more affordable and mid-tier finds rather than anything from the fine-jewelry category. From contemporary brands you may not know to my secret Amazon picks, here’s a glimpse of my collection, because no outfit feels complete without a touch of gold jewelry, in my opinion.

      Shop My Jewelry Favorites:

      - FUNTE

      Chunky Gold Hoop Earrings

      - LIÉ STUDIO

      The Elisa Choker

      - MILAKOO

      Chunky Cuff Bracelet

      - COMPLETEDWORKS

      Pearl Necklace

      - MANGO

      Sun Design Earrings

      3. ASK HANNAH ANYTHING (about style)

“I’m looking for comfortable sandals that I can walk a lot in. Do you have any suggestions?”

Hannah says, "Thanks to the reader who sent this question my way; I think it’s something we all want to know! Once upon a time, before the pandemic (when I was pregnant), I came to greatly appreciate Teva sandals. I know they aren’t deemed as “cool” now, but they are still a practical, sportier choice—I’d recommend the sturdier Hurricane style over the foam-soled Universal. If you want something sleek, many of our editors recommend A.Emery. For simple, minimalist styles that aren’t overly chunky, I’d suggest Ancient Greek Sandals—they're crafted from soft, high-quality leather and quickly soften and mold to your feet. Overall, I’d advise looking for thicker straps, genuine leather or suede, and a sturdier sole or molded footbed to withstand lots of walking! Check these out, along with a few other top picks, below."
