I Take an Anti-Trend Approach to Shopping—Here’s What’s in My Cart

      I'm currently sitting beside my air conditioner during a heat wave in New York City. It’s 96° outside right now, tomorrow’s forecast predicts a high of 99°, and the only sensible dress code seems to be "as little as possible." Today, I'm dressed in a full white ensemble featuring a Hanes boys' tank and a swim skirt. If there’s ever a time for keeping it simple, it’s summer. That being said, my shopping philosophy remains pretty consistent regardless of the season. What matters most is whether it makes me feel like myself—trends don't influence me much. Some of my favorite items may be trendy, but overall, I tend to dress in an anti-trend manner. If I do opt for something that feels more temporary, it’s usually in the form of a budget-friendly accessory since it’s less of a commitment. Otherwise, I lean towards basic staples with an artistic twist—pieces that work across seasons, trends, and moods. Here’s what’s currently in my cart:
