This is the shoe trend that stylish girls are embracing to give their white midi skirts a more 2025 vibe.
If you're a regular reader of Who What Wear, you might be familiar with the wrong shoe theory. If not, it refers to the idea of selecting a shoe style for an outfit that goes against all expectations and is quite surprising. This is essentially what Camila Morrone did last night in L.A. while dining with Hailey Bieber at the favorite sushi restaurant of every trendy girl: Sushi Park.
For the event, Morrone chose a classic summer ensemble that featured the skirt trend that took over last summer: a white midi skirt. As you may know, these skirts are usually flared and made from linen or poplin, just like Morrone's Dôen version. She combined it with a fitted V-neck white T-shirt and selected a shoe style that undoubtedly brings a fresh twist to the popular skirt trend for 2025. Instead of sandals, sneakers, or satin ballet flats, Morrone chose black patent-leather flats.
Black patent-leather flats have been in vogue all year, especially since Chanel embraced the trend. (Indeed, Morrone's shoes are by Chanel.) Many other brands have followed suit since then. I think there’s something really fresh about pairing an all-white outfit with black accessories, and Morrone’s look exemplified this perfectly.
