Charity event "Run for the Dream – Walk" 2025: steps toward a dream that change lives
As part of the annual "White Nights" marathon held in the heart of Saint Petersburg, the "Life in Motion" Foundation organized its 11th charitable run, "Run for a Dream – Walk," which became a true celebration of hope, strength of spirit, and unity. This event is not just a sports activity but a powerful momentum for those fighting for the opportunity to move and realize their dreams.
This year, the Foundation's team at the marathon was represented by over 30 benefactors. Business representatives and people from various professions actively supported the "Run for a Dream – Walk" campaign. Among them was Maxim Egorov, an ultra-marathon runner known for his incredible story — he ran across Russia for more than a year from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok, covering nearly ten thousand kilometers: “I ran a distance of 42.2 kilometers to support the Foundation’s beneficiaries. They are great — striving for better, not giving up, and moving toward their dreams and goals.”
Vitaly Svidovskiy, General Director of the Teremok Group, also participated in the marathon: “The Teremok team is not just those who believe. They are those who act. We run to give a chance to those who find it difficult to walk now. In our steps is strength, faith, and hope. We proudly support the 'Run for a Dream – Walk' campaign and believe that Kirill and Arbi will definitely line up at the start with us — on equal footing.”
Victoria Kanape, owner of the IT company Hmethod, has already run multiple marathons supporting Foundation initiatives: “When you run for someone else’s dream, every step becomes part of a big victory. I am confident that this distance is not just about kilometers but about the opportunity to live fully, move without pain and fear. That’s why it’s worth running.”
A special place was taken by the Foundation’s cyber-team of five people who participated on prostheses — their involvement inspired others and demonstrated the strength of spirit and determination of the participants. One of the ambassadors of the event was runner Pavel Trofimov. At six years old, he lost both arms but did not give up, and now helps others: “I’ve been running in marathons for five years now as part of the 'Run for a Dream – Walk' campaign. We dedicate it each year to our beneficiaries, raising funds for prosthetics. Later, on their prostheses, they come out with us to support the next kids. For me, it’s more than just a run, more than a distance!”
This time, the participants of the "Run for a Dream – Walk" united for one goal: to raise funds for prosthetics for two of the Foundation’s beneficiaries — Kirill Stepanov from Sverdlovsk Oblast, a 10-year-old boy born without his right hand, engaged in athletics, skiing, and rock climbing, and Arbi Isaev from the Chechen Republic, a 20-year-old young man who lost both his shins at age 14. He did not give up and continues to pursue sports: horseback riding, rock climbing, snowboarding, and hockey. He has already climbed Mount Elbrus twice and dreams of running the Moscow Marathon.
Thanks to joint efforts, the run turned out to be truly vibrant, filled with emotions, and left unforgettable impressions on all participants. The Foundation managed to raise the necessary amount — 3,300,000 rubles. All participants received medals with the inscription "Run for a Dream – Walk."
The following day, a celebratory breakfast was held at NOVOTEL Saint Petersburg Centre with the beneficiaries, the Foundation’s team, benefactors, and supporters, where they shared their emotions and hopes, exchanged impressions of the event, and encouraged each other toward future goals. The event was filled with warmth, inspiration, and faith in a better future, because every step of Kirill, Arbi, and other young people is a step towards a new life for those dreaming of full mobility.
