Surprising Reveal: The Secret to My Dewy Summer Skin Was This Unforeseen Product

I always anticipate that a quality serum or toner can fulfill my expectations for brightening my skin. However, there's another crucial product we need to discuss. Sunscreen has quietly become essential for achieving a stunning summer glow. Over time, there’s been an increase in the popularity of Korean sunscreens and dewy formulations here in the United States. Some are so hydrating they can even serve as moisturizers. If you have oily or acne-prone skin like I do, this is excellent news. Maintaining a streamlined and minimal routine is key when managing problem skin. As a beauty editor, I encounter many products at the peak of sunscreen season, but it's rare to find so many formulas in one season that I genuinely adore and would use every day. Below, I’m sharing the sunscreens that deliver a dewy, radiant glow without clogging my pores. A few are new discoveries, while others are long-standing favorites. For the best dewy sunscreens, keep reading.

      Marie Veronique

Colorfree Zinc Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 32

This new sunscreen from Marie Veronique truly surprised me. I often worry about ingredients like extracts and oils due to my extremely sensitive and reactive skin that easily breaks out, but this formula is ideal. It’s on the thicker side, yet it absorbs beautifully, and I appreciate that it’s a mineral-only, untinted formula. Tinted formulas tend to transfer and stain my clothing, but this one is fantastic. It doesn’t leave a white cast and keeps my skin well-hydrated. It does have a slight herbal scent, which I enjoy, and it fades away after a few minutes.

      Beauty of Joseon

      Relief Sun

The formulation of this product from Korea is truly superior. Many Korean brands have been modifying their original formulas for the U.S. market to comply with FDA regulations, but in my opinion, they lose some of their charm in the process. If you appreciate Korean sunscreens and want the original formula, this is something to keep in mind. The Beauty of Joseon sunscreen leaves a delicate dewy finish and hydrates like a daily moisturizer. It’s one of my top choices currently.

      Numbuzin

No. 9 NAD+ Bio Super Defense Glow Sunscreen

This recent product from the viral Korean brand Numbuzin delivers an impressive glow. It features one of my favorite emerging anti-aging ingredients, NAD+, which aids in boosting cellular turnover, stimulating collagen production, and supporting skin repair. Additionally, it contains five different peptides—effectively combining a serum with sunscreen!

      Dr. Idriss

Major Fade Disco Block Discoloration Treatment SPF 50 Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen

I’m a big fan of Dr. Idriss's Major Fade collection, and this new dewy sunscreen is fantastic. It’s a chemical sunscreen, which is important to note for those who prefer mineral options, but I adore its hydrating quality—it feels like a second moisturizer that adds the perfect amount of dewiness without making you appear greasy. It’s also beneficial for anyone struggling with hyperpigmentation, as it includes hexylresorcinol to help even out skin tone and improve the look of dark spots.

      ISDIN

Fusion Water Magic SPF 40 Sunscreen

I love Isdin's Eryfotona Mineral Sunscreen, and I think Fusion Water Magic is even better. It leaves a subtle glass-skin effect, and its hydration lasts throughout the day. The formula incorporates hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and Mediterranean algae to shield the skin from environmental damage. The name "water" is absolutely fitting; this is one of the lightest formulas I've ever encountered, which is advantageous for sensitive, acne-prone skin.

      Ultra Violette

Preen Screen SPF 50 Facial Sunscreen Mist With Niacinamide

Finding a suitable sunscreen spray to use after applying makeup can be challenging, but this one is ideal. Thankfully, it’s fragrance-free and doesn’t dry out my skin. Occasionally, I use it as a setting spray, and it works wonderfully to achieve a soft, subtle glow.

      Then I Met You

Essence Light Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Moisturizer SPF 50 PA+++

Then I Met You is an underrated brand. While their viral cleansing balm stands out, this sunscreen that also acts as a soothing moisturizer deserves recognition. It’s perfect for Black and Brown skin tones, as it leaves no white cast and blends seamlessly. The formula contains galactomyces ferment filtrate, which visibly brightens the skin and helps manage excess oil, making it a great choice for those with acne-prone skin. It instantly plumps and hydrates as well. I reach for this often, and sometimes I even keep it in my bag, knowing it’s a convenient option I can apply quickly without excessive rubbing.

      Saie

Sunvisor Radiant Moisturizing Face Sunscreen SPF 35

Saie products never fail to impress. The brand's foundation is my
