I abandoned the neutral nail style for these $16 press-on nails that look salon-quality—now, I'll never return to my old ways.

During my childhood, I was never particularly interested in manicures. I typically avoided nail polish because I didn't like how it looked once it began to chip. Eventually, I came across gel polish, which lasted longer than regular polish, and that encouraged me to explore my style. I have always leaned towards neutral colors in my wardrobe and aesthetics, so this felt like a natural progression. However, I wasn't fond of the high costs associated with manicures or the time it consumed at salons. I wanted to try out colorful nail trends, but the increased expense didn’t seem justified—until I discovered Chillhouse press-on nails. I had seen numerous ads on Instagram praising these nails. However, the idea of press-ons reminded me of past conversations with friends about their tendency to pop off quickly, not fitting well on natural nails, or being harmful to them. Still, I felt motivated to try them after reading many positive reviews, and in hindsight, I’m glad I did. Nowadays, I regularly use Chillhouse nails. The brand offers incredibly stylish options that push me out of my comfort zone, and I also feel proud to support a Latina-owned business. If you're curious about how Chill Tips work and the styles that are worth the investment, keep reading.

Chill Tips - Let It Flow 2.0

This was the first set of Chillhouse nails I tried, which was quite a shift from my usual neutrals. The vibrant orange swirls really stood out, and though it took some getting used to, they were adorable. Three years later, it remains one of my favorite styles for summer or vacations.

      Chill Tips - Bougie Butter

This is my latest manicure, and I had to include them since butter yellow is trending everywhere right now. The Bougie Butter tips offer a playful twist on a classic French manicure, with the yellow giving it a summery vibe perfect for any occasion.

      Chill Tips - Tipsy Tinsel

I never expected to enjoy chrome nails until I tried Tipsy Tinsel. Of all the styles I've experimented with, these have garnered the most compliments. I suspect it's because designs like these are difficult to achieve without a highly-skilled nail technician. I chose to wear these in almond shape, but they are also available in oval.

      Chill Tips - Born Day

Born Day is my favorite take on ombre nails. It features a peachy pink that fades into white at the tips. I prefer the almond shape for this style, though it's also available in square. There are bolder options like Groovy Baby and Shades of Mohair for those looking to stand out.

      Chill Tips - Gone Riding

These brown swirly nails can be seen as the sibling style to Chillhouse's Gone Glamping, which is nearly identical in earthy green (and also one of my favorites). I'm a fan of darker hues in winter, and I appreciated how the design enhanced the overall look—far superior to a basic dark brown manicure!

      Chill Tips - Pirouette

As a lover of neutrals, I had to include Pirouette. There’s something ballet-inspired about the classic line designs across the nails.

Chill Tips - Editor in Chill

As a beauty editor, it would be a miss not to include a nod to magazines, right? The Editor in Chill nails are the brand's most sought-after style, featuring two-toned waves that truly embody a chill vibe. Rest assured, if you're wearing these, other Chillhouse fans will recognize them from afar.

Chill Tips - Catch the Crown

I haven’t tried this style yet, but I recently bought them and am eager to give them a go. I was drawn to Catch the Crown because of the striking navy blue and gold tips. There’s something undeniably sophisticated about it, and the elongated almond shape really aligns with the confidence you’re meant to exude while wearing this style.

How to Apply Chillhouse Press-On Nails

All Chillhouse nails come in the same kit and are applied in the same manner. Each box includes a dual-sided buffer and file, a cuticle stick, glue, and a set of 30 nails. To apply them, start by sizing each nail. Pro tip: Each press-on has a number underneath, so once you find the sizes for one hand, just match them for the other hand—no need to resize. I even save my sizes in my notes app for future reference. Keep in mind that sizes that work for almond nails may not fit the same for square or oval nails. Once you have your tips, use the file to buff your nails, applying the cuticle stick as necessary. Next, apply a light layer of nail glue to the back of the press-on and a thicker layer on your natural nails. After three seconds, press and hold the tip against
