These Legendary Topshop Skinny Jeans Have Returned After Being Discontinued and Are Set to Make a Comeback.

      We’ve all heard the news: Topshop is making a comeback. This has sparked excitement among millennials, xennials, and, of course, Gen Zers, who have wholeheartedly embraced every Y2K trend. The revival on the runway and the launch at Liberty have certainly contributed to the brand's return, but it's one specific item that has fans from the past rummaging through their closets again: Joni Jeans. The once-popular skinny jeans are officially making a comeback, with searches for 'Topshop Joni Jeans' experiencing significant spikes on Google. Even Cara Delevingne is showing her support, featuring both black and mid-blue versions in her 30-piece selection from the new Topshop autumn/winter collection.

      Reflect back to 2012, when Carly Rae Jepsen’s "Call Me Maybe" ruled the airwaves, "Gossip Girl" was concluding, "The Hunger Games" just hit theaters, and Topshop Joni Jeans were flying off the shelves every 10 seconds. Their ultra-stretchy fit quickly became a wardrobe staple, paired with everything from slogan sweatshirts to high-top sneakers. Fans even campaigned on Twitter (now X) in 2019 for belt loops to be added and succeeded. Eventually, wide-leg, barrel, and flared styles took their place, but now skinny jeans are creeping back into fashion. To assess their relevance in 2025, I wore Joni Jeans all weekend. The result? More compliments than I anticipated—though, to be honest, sitting down isn't exactly a breeze...

      A word of caution: Topshop Joni Jeans appear just as tiny as they always did, leading you to wonder how they will fit right out of the packaging. Fortunately, the signature stretch is still there, but I found them much more comfortable a size or two up.

      Initially, I was concerned these would feel too much like 2010, but instead of reaching for high-top trainers or my reliable Vans, the contemporary way to style skinnies is with boots—ideally knee-high or slouchy ones that enhance the silhouette without distracting from it. And if you've ever struggled with tucking wide-leg jeans into boots, you’ll certainly appreciate the return of skinnies.

      The washed black color seemed to vanish when the original jeans went out of style, but it's back for good—and I’ve missed that worn-in, faded appearance. This is indeed the pair I’m keeping in my wardrobe.
