The Kosas Soul Gazer mascara features a flexible wand with an hourglass design. The center of the brush is equipped with small bristles, while the longer bristles on the outer edges effectively catch every lash, which it accomplishes superbly. After curling my lashes, I applied it and was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable lengthening, as well as a fanned-out effect that instantly made my eyes appear larger and more awake. Notably, this formula contains peptides that encourage lash growth (think of it as a mix of a lengthening mascara and a lash serum). Due to the bendy, hourglass shape of the brush, layering isn’t the easiest (if you opt for a second coat, it’s best applied while the mascara is still wet, not after the first coat has dried), and if you’re looking for something with volume, you may want to pass on this one. However, if you desire a doe-eyed flutter that holds a curl throughout the day without smudging or flaking, this is an excellent choice, plus it offers the added benefit of boosting lash health. Although I haven’t noticed a significant change after two weeks (remember, full results appear after about 6-8 weeks), my lashes have felt noticeably softer since using it.
