      Dima Bilan presented the music video for the song “Something in My Native Tongue” from his new album “Vector V.” The shoot took place this spring in the romantic atmosphere of Venice, which became the perfect location for a story about memory, feelings and new meanings. From the very first frames the viewer senses that the video is an homage to one of the artist’s most significant hits — the song “On the Shore of the Sky.” Dima returns to places already familiar to everyone in the very same T‑shirt from the legendary clip. For more than 20 years this composition has remained in the hearts of listeners and is part of Dima Bilan’s golden collection. In the new track nostalgia and a contemporary sound are organically intertwined. “Something in My Native Tongue” is not only a tribute to the past but also a continuation of the story about the same character. The sensual composition and its romantic visual embodiment create a special atmosphere that subtly echoes the mood of autumn. It is no coincidence that the premiere of the video was scheduled for the day of the autumnal equinox — a time when a light nostalgia hangs in the air, when you want to relive vivid emotions, remember, dream and set off on new journeys.

      “While recording the song ‘Something in My Native Tongue’ I caught myself thinking that the overall mood of the composition is identical to the track ‘On the Shore of the Sky.’ This idea would not let me go for a long time. Although initially no such task was set for the authors of the camp in which this song was created in 2023, everything fell into place magically, and at some point I realized — we had made a kind of ‘On the Shore of the Sky 2.0.’ It was then that I decided the clip would become a memory, or perhaps a continuation of the beloved story that each viewer could interpret in their own way. Thanks to the video’s leading heroine, Polina Podpletennaya, this work was filled with the necessary warmth, subtlety of feeling and romance. So much time has passed since I was filmed on that little street in Venice — I would say a musical film that has taken on the amber of memory, inspiration, beauty and lightness for the viewer and for me, of course, too. This story today, like looped time, has returned to me and to all of us with this event, when I found myself again in Venice, on the same streets and squares. These are indescribable sensations! I think that only music can express this, only harmony, only it can explain this very feeling without words. Watch, listen and go back there to draw these thoughts and emotions and live by them further and more,” shared Dima Bilan.
