How Comedian, Influencer, and Podcast Host Tefi Pessoa Prepares for the Burberry Show in London

On the morning of the Burberry show, in a hotel room in Central London, the sound of Britney Spears fills the air. Tefi Pessoa, the vibrant social media influencer, comedian, host of her new podcast Tefi Talks, and an internet mentor to many, is singing along while wrapped in a soft hotel bathrobe. She describes her show look as embodying "a Latina in London," with the highlight being a trench coat featuring a large, striking version of Burberry's famous check print. This piece is a clear sign of the brand's new chapter under the creative direction of Daniel Lee. Since he took the helm in 2022, Lee has been reinterpreting classic designs and transforming traditional British fashion motifs, injecting fresh energy and excitement into the renowned fashion house. Each new collection has advanced his vision, making Burberry one of the most eagerly awaited shows at London Fashion Week and highly coveted tickets in the city. While his winter 2025 collection drew inspiration from a luxurious getaway to the English countryside, he is now focusing on another key event in Londoners' calendars for the spring 2026 show: Glastonbury. The influence of retro rockstars was evident in both the clothing and the set design, as models marched across "muddy" flooring at London's Perks Field, leaving tracks from their combat boots behind. As for what Pessoa is eager to see on the runway this season (and wear six months from now)? Bright, vibrant colors. Before she headed to the venue, we caught up with her for a discussion about Burberry and London Fashion Week, covering topics from a memorable campaign to her favorite getting-ready playlist and more.

What do you love about London Fashion Week that makes it stand out compared to fashion weeks in other cities? London exudes a cool vibe. It's unafraid to experiment and push limits. London embodies a delightful kind of eccentricity.

Burberry has been boldly exploring new avenues under Creative Director Daniel Lee for several seasons. What do you look forward to seeing in his upcoming collection? Color! The world could use more vibrancy now than ever. I crave brightness in my life.

Imagine walking into a Burberry boutique with an unlimited budget. What would be the first item you choose? I would buy every boot and every trench coat immediately.

Do you have any favorite Burberry items in your wardrobe? My great uncle gifted me his Burberry scarf and umbrella. They are off-limits to anyone else. He purchased them at Burberry in the '80s, and I treasure them dearly.

What are your earliest memories of Burberry as a brand? Is there a particular campaign or item you remember longing for? Christy Turlington for Burberry!

Who’s your favorite British style icon, whether from the past or present? Rod Stewart.

Tell me about your show look and its inspiration. Who or what are you channeling? I’m channeling a Latina in London. I adore a braless tank paired with trousers. This outfit feels entirely true to me. I feel liberated in it and not as though I’m in a costume. One of my biggest pet peeves is when an outfit overshadows the person wearing it. I love my look because it allows me to transition from a set to drinks with friends while feeling chic throughout. Isn’t that what life is all about—catching up with your girls after work in a tank top? Ugh, love it.

How does this outfit reflect your personal style? Is it consistent with your usual wardrobe, or did you venture out of your comfort zone? I wouldn’t say I have a comfort zone beyond avoiding skirts in cold weather, which I dislike. Yes, I absolutely feel aligned. I wish I could show you just how COMFORTABLE THESE PANTS ARE. When I packed them away, I said, “Bye, my love.” That’s how much I adore these pants.

What’s your approach to hair and makeup for the show, and why did you choose these elements to complement your Burberry look? I desired a very Burberry-inspired eye: bold yet blended. I want my skin to look like skin, with blush being key for me. I want to look like myself but with a bit more emphasis on my eyes. I can tell it’s getting colder outside when I start opting for darker eye makeup.

Do you have any pre-show rituals or routines? What music is playing while you prepare? What song or artist is essential on your getting-ready playlist? I like to go for a run, pump up Britney Spears and Future, and repeatedly shout, “EVERYTHING WILL LOOK GOOD.” After every show, I indulge in a cheeseburger and a Diet Coke.

If you’re ordering room service while getting glam, what’s on your order? A pot of coffee and a small charcuterie board. Every single time.
