Pamela Anderson Discusses Transformations with Short Hair, Sunspots, and Color Correction Without Makeup

"I'm heading to France tomorrow, and I'm not sure what I'll do with my hair," Pamela Anderson expressed to me during our Zoom call last September. "I haven't really committed to a single hairstyle. I enjoy changing things up. … That's what makes acting enjoyable. When you dive into a new film, you can transform into a completely different character, and sometimes that influences your real life. So we’ll see." And indeed, we saw. The Naked Gun actress showed up at Paris Fashion Week sporting an eye-catching copper shag in preparation for her upcoming role in Michael Cera's "Love Is Not the Answer." Meanwhile, Anderson currently has a blonde bob and is excited about Sonsie’s latest launch: Adapt Cream, a barrier-strengthening moisturizer that smooths skin texture, enhances radiance, and instantly neutralizes redness with an earthy tone.

According to Anderson, the cream has helped diminish the appearance of her sunspots. "I've always loved the sun; it's been a part of my life. I still believe it's important to get sunlight," she clarifies. "But over time, [the cream] helps fade sunspots. It nourishes your skin and aids in protecting the collagen." It works through a specific strain of bacillus ferment found in Spain's Río Tinto, known as "Mars on Earth" because of its highly acidic conditions. This bacterial strain has adapted to the river’s challenging environment and has been shown to assist skin in coping with stressors like dehydration and a compromised skin barrier. With a 2.5% peptide-glycerin blend that boosts collagen production and repairs UV damage, the formula nurtures your skin's natural defense system, enhancing its resilience. "My skin—I feel like it’s better than it has ever been," Anderson claims.

She applies the cream in the morning ("I do everything in the morning," she notes) after cleansing her face with Sonsie’s Cleansing Mousse and using the Super Serum, which she says already provides her with an incredible glow. The Adapt Cream's green hue immediately reduces redness, making it perfect for layering under makeup or subtly color-correcting on makeup-free days. "I really love the cleanser, the serum, the moisture cream, and the lip balm. I thought that routine was perfect," Anderson admits. "However, this [cream] is interesting because I don’t wear much makeup—if any, most of the time. It’s nice to even out your skin tone, and I'm really surprised and excited about it." You can also use the skin-balancing formula as a spot treatment if you prefer. "You can use this as an eye cream!" Anderson suggests. "I apply it all over my face, but you could use it on a dry patch or anywhere you need some extra care. It really helps those areas."

Additionally, the cream is home compostable. Its jar is made from Vivomer, a plastic-free and completely biodegradable material designed to break down in a healthy home compost within 52 weeks. Anderson can dispose of it in her garden compost once it's empty—yes, really. "Vivomer is unique because it's safe for soil, marine environments, and even landfill conditions," explains Kailey Bradt, Sonsie's newly appointed CEO (who also created the waterless haircare brand Susteau). "Wherever it ends up, it will naturally biodegrade back into organic matter without leaving behind microplastics. It’s truly a circular packaging material, and we’re excited to showcase sustainability that is as effortless and intuitive as your skincare routine." And to reassure you, yes, the jar is entirely shelf-stable, so it won’t start breaking down before you're ready to clean and dispose of it. Essentially, the new Sonsie hero is adaptable in every sense—for your skin and the planet. It’s a timely launch for Anderson as she’s "just kind of going with the flow" regarding her fall hair changes. "I really don’t know what my next look will be," she says just weeks before unveiling her red-haired transformation. From her feathery waves at Mugler to the side-slicked style she wore at Tom Ford, the iconic blonde has transitioned into this new hair era remarkably well—definitely on-brand.
