На станции метро «Заречная» завершилась модернизация турникетов, с этого места началась широкомасштабная замена устаревшего оборудования, исчерпавшего свой технический ресурс. Об этом сообщает МетроНН в своём телеграм-канале. Большинство турникетов в нижегородском метро были выпущены в 1973 году, до открытия метрополитена в 1985 году. Новые устройства предоставила казанская компания «Инфомат». Она уже установила такие турникеты в известных местах, как парк «Зарядье», стадионах «ВТБ Арена» и «ВЭБ Арена», аэропорту Внуково, а также в новосибирском метро. Обновлённые устройства позволят увеличить пропускную способность станций на 40%, что достигается благодаря более узким тумбам, возможности прохода с обеих сторон и удобной зоне для оплаты. Турникеты имеют световую индикацию для статуса оплаты, вибрационную обратную связь для слабовидящих и функцию биометрической оплаты.
