Lydia Peckham's premiere look at Nuremberg pays homage to Old Hollywood.
Lydia Peckham has just experienced a "pinch me" week in Los Angeles. The first half revolved around a Robin Hood-themed event, where she joined the cast and crew of the 10-episode series to celebrate the new MGM+ drama ahead of its November 2 premiere. The latter half focused on Sony Pictures Classics' Nuremberg—an American historical drama that depicts the actual events of the war-crime trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime—culminating in the film's glamorous premiere at AFI Fest. It’s the latter event that has the Who What Wear team buzzing, thanks to Peckham's breathtaking Patou gown. Adorned with black sequins and featuring a plunging halter neckline, the ethereal dress strikes a balance between timelessness and modernity. She completed her look with soft curls and a bold red lip, radiating the aura of a classic Hollywood star—a vision she later confirms was intentional. In her delightful ambiance, accompanied by the sounds of Olivia Dean and Charli XCX, Peckham and her talented team crafted a memorable look, which she exclusively documented for Who What Wear.
"A magical whirlwind of golden lights and elegance, that sums up my week in Los Angeles. This city exudes a magnetic energy, especially during the Nuremberg premiere at the AFI film festival, where it was alive with cinematic history and excitement."
"When I prepare, I always have music playing. I select different playlists to set the mood for that night’s premiere. Tonight’s choices included Charlie XCX, Olivia Dean, and Billie Eilish. Laughter is essential too, as I love to have fun while getting glammed up."
"My amazing Patou dress—a silhouette that hints at a bygone era while fully embracing the present—felt like the ideal fusion of these two worlds. The soft waves, the red lip, and the sparkle of sequins catching the light… [It’s] a tribute to the timeless women of Old Hollywood."
"I adore premieres, as they gather all the passionate creatives who invested their heart and soul into the film after a long time apart. The shared excitement and pride create a strong bond among the entire cast."
"Boom! Everything has aligned perfectly! It’s more than I ever envisioned."
"The elevator ride—transitioning from serenity to the chaos. Departing the wonderful bubble of my hotel room and stepping into reality. It’s time to share my work with the world!"
"Beyond the exquisite Patou dress, glamorous Old Hollywood waves, and red lips, it’s the women who are part of this moment that ground me, supplying immense joy and strength: Charlene (publicist), Ali (stylist), Jenny (hair), and Kara (makeup). The energy I draw from the incredibly talented and intuitive women around me reminded me of Lila’s world (my character in Nuremberg). In a postwar, male-dominated time, the bond among women must have represented a quiet strength, holding everything together behind the scenes." Nuremberg hits theaters on November 7.
