This experience solidified my love for coastal style. However, it wasn't until I officially left my home state of Oregon and moved to New York that I explored The Hamptons and came to appreciate Hamptons-style outfits.

      There’s something about Hamptons style that sets it apart from other coastlines in the U.S. (styles in Oregon and California are quite different), as well as from seaside locations worldwide. It’s simple enough for seaside attire but simultaneously refined and sophisticated. Although bright and lively prints exist, they are often replaced by shades and fabrics that have a more timeless quality. Hamptons outfits also carry a breezy essence that seems to come only from the ocean.

      I would argue that The Hamptons is a key origin of summer’s quiet luxury.
