These Paris street style outfits have become the focal points of my summer mood board.
Undoubtedly, the essence of fashion week lies in the debut of the latest collections by the world’s top designers, yet the attendees at these shows also wield considerable influence. Street style has evolved into a significant industry, with brands investing heavily to see their clothing worn by prominent tastemakers, including editors, content creators, and celebrities. Nowadays, coverage of the style seen outside of the shows is just as prevalent as that of the collections unveiled during them, with Paris—especially during Haute Couture Week—standing out as the pinnacle of street style.
The brief yet vibrant week of couture shows in the City of Lights has just concluded, featuring couture houses like Schiaparelli, Iris van Herpen, Maison Margiela, and Balenciaga showcasing their fall 2025 couture designs. Glenn Martens presented his inaugural collection for Margiela, while Demna bid farewell to Balenciaga. With both moments of celebration and reflection, attendees dressed in their finest for the occasion.
As an avid fan of couture week's street style, I found myself saving numerous looks to my summer mood board—ranging from Dua Lipa's keyhole sequin gown to Gabriella Karefa-Johnson's zebra-print coat, both of which I saw outside of Daniel Roseberry's master class Schiaparelli presentation. Below, I’ve compiled the outfits that caught my attention, worn by dedicated attendees who put in the extra effort for this season's shows, showcasing their personal style distinctly, and models who effortlessly nail cool dressing in between their runway appearances.
**Dedicated Attendees**
Celebrities, high-value clients, and leading influencers are often hosted by brands, which leads to them wearing outfits designed by the showcasing designer. For couture week, this translates to guests often donning couture creations. They aren’t in comfortable shoes and jeans; instead, they are adorned in intricately hand-beaded and hand-sewn masterpieces, which shines through in the street style imagery.
Dua Lipa consistently understands the fashion assignment, whether she’s performing on stage, enjoying a festival, relaxing by the beach, or attending leading fashion shows in Paris during couture week. She truly gets it.
Another dedicated fashion icon is Cardi B, whose standout looks emerge from high-profile events like the Met Gala and couture week. This sculptural masterpiece aligns perfectly with an artist known for her striking presence on the red carpet and beyond.
This sheer red dress is flawless to me, especially when paired with gold accessories and toe-capped black mules—perfection.
This sculpted, strapless gown worn by Hunter Schafer could easily belong in a museum. I can’t fathom how she managed to sit in it, but who needs to sit when you look that stunning?
**The Fashion-Person Special**
From coordinated sets to laid-back denim outfits, true fashion enthusiasts reliably showcase the best looks during fashion week. These outfits often resonate with me as my favorites, owing to their authenticity, reflecting each individual's unique style.
Recreate this look by pairing a simple white tee with a statement skirt.
Indeed, fashion can be relaxed, illustrated beautifully by a jeans-and-tee ensemble, enhanced with Alaïa flats, sunglasses, and an elegant bag.
From the zebra-print coat to the Le Teckel bag, every aspect of this look, right down to the choice of casual denim, receives full marks.
Lauren Santo Domingo consistently exudes chicness, and couture week was no different. This outfit exemplifies how to elegantly wear patterns and colors without being ostentatious.
The Chanel show-day looks I save most frequently are those incorporating jeans, as they highlight the versatility of the house’s signature tweed jackets.
**Model on Duty**
When our team attends shows during fashion week, we often linger afterward to observe what models are wearing in-between jobs. Complementing their impeccably styled hair and makeup, they typically sport casual and effortless attire—usually featuring jeans, sneakers or flats, accompanied by a stylish jacket or coat layered over a simple T-shirt along with a designer tote bag.
Supermodel Mona Tougaard epitomizes modern off-duty style with her suede bomber jacket paired with a T-shirt and white jeans following the Chanel show.
White top? Check! Jeans? Check! Flats? Check! These epitomize model-off-duty looks at their finest.
A relaxed white T-shirt paired with jeans serves as a definitive indicator of whether someone outside a fashion show is a model or an attendee, as does an vintage jacket—in this case, a trench coat.
It’s always apparent who is a model by their hair and makeup alongside a casual yet stylish outfit. In this instance, low-key jorts and a Patou tank are matched with detailed makeup.
