As a Fashion Editor, I've been purchasing more beauty products than clothing recently—here are 19 that I absolutely stand by.
While I may not be a beauty editor by profession, my passion for beauty products is profound, and I find it increasingly challenging to resist new launches. As a fashion editor, it’s obvious that I love shopping for clothes, shoes, and accessories, but over the past month, my focus has shifted from summer clothing to scouting the latest beauty products entering the market. (I check the Just Dropped section on Sephora daily.) Out of all the beauty products I have tried this summer (and there are quite a few), approximately 20 have become essentials I simply can't live without. I even added a couple of new makeup bags to my collection and cleared a shelf in my medicine cabinet to store them. Among my top picks are the new Rare Beauty lip gloss, the creamy Summer Fridays blush, the much-talked-about Fara Homidi bronzer, and plenty more. Keep reading to discover why I believe my new favorite beauty products are worth purchasing, and get them for yourself.
ILIA
Soft Focus Blurring Blush
I’m a huge fan of blushes. When a brand I admire launches a new blush formula, I'm always eager to try it. The latest powder blush that caught my eye is Ilia's Soft Focus Blurring Blush. (The name alone drew me in.) It effortlessly melts into your skin, which is not something I can say for most powder blushes. I'm particularly fond of the shades Breathless and Wonder, but every single color is beautiful and easy to wear.
Dieux
Mini Air Angel Collagen & Peptide Hydrating Gel Cream
There's nothing that excites me more (within reason) than when one of my favorite products is available in a mini, travel-friendly format. Dieux Air Angel is the perfect moisturizer for all seasons—light yet noticeably hydrating, and it works well with other skincare products and makeup. It provides a blurred finish that's almost matte. (And don't overlook the new mini Instant Angel, which will be a staple for all my upcoming cold-weather travels.)
Fara Homidi
Essential Bronzer Compact
Although bronzer has never been a go-to product for me, I couldn't resist the hype surrounding this one. Once I tried it, I was amazed by how seamlessly it blended into my skin and how natural it appeared. Being fair-skinned, I chose the shade Bois, which was pleasantly more neutral than warm—a rarity among bronzers. The brush is also fantastic, allowing for precise or all-over bronzing.
rhode
Pocket Blush Tan Line
If you were to ask me how many shades of Rhode Pocket Blush I possess, the answer would be excessive. Still, that didn’t stop me from ordering the new Tan Line shade as soon as it was available. It’s the ideal rosy summer shade that looks even better when paired with the previously mentioned bronzer. (I may have labeled it a summer hue, but I plan to wear it all year for a sun-kissed glow.)
Crown Affair
The Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner Duo for Oily, Flat Hair
While I wouldn’t necessarily describe my hair as oily, it has felt a bit flat and thin this summer, and my usual moisturizing shampoos and conditioners haven't helped. After hearing rave reviews about Crown Affair’s volumizing duo, I can now attest to its effectiveness. It leaves my hair bouncy, light, and airy—exactly what I was searching for.
Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez
Positive Light Luminizing Lip Gloss
I thought I had moved on from sparkly lip glosses, but the new Rare Beauty Positive Light gloss really impressed me. The shimmer is subtle and lovely, without the presence of chunky glitter. I first ordered it in the shade Glimmer, then went back for Dazzle (yes, the blue one) because I was so taken with it.
CYKLAR
Naked Neroli Perfume Oil
Naked Neroli was my initial encounter with the Cyklar perfume oils that everyone seems to rave about, and now I understand the excitement. It’s a lovely, fresh scent for summer that's softly floral and suitable for any occasion, day or night. I appreciate that it's easy to carry in my bag for reapplications, and I’m already contemplating which scents to try next.
Summer Fridays
Blush Butter Balm Hydrating Cream Blush With Peptides
Yes, another blush. This is Summer Fridays' new cream blush, and it’s as buttery as the name suggests. In fact, it's so creamy that I thought it wouldn’t last long—especially in the summer heat. I was mistaken. It wears beautifully throughout the day, and I enjoy layering it over more matte blushes to enhance dewiness. I've been using Sweet Rosé and Toasted Terracotta, and I have Berry Spritz on the way. By the way, the brush is also excellent and enhances the blush’s appearance, which I didn’t think was possible.
