In a secluded garden located in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea, some of fashion’s most promising talents celebrated the end of summer during Who What Wear’s supper club series, Excellent Taste. Templeton Garden, an oasis of tranquility and sophistication amidst the lively atmosphere of West London, is the newest Miiro hotel generating buzz among tastemakers. Renowned for its thoughtful design, stylish communal areas, and delectable cuisine (we are particularly fond of Le Grand Cayre in Paris), this recently opened venue showcased both its enchanting private garden—reminiscent of those found in British romantic comedies that are usually inaccessible to the public—and the elegant restaurant Pippin’s for an evening filled with engaging discussions, irresistible chips, and an array of excellent outfits embracing early Autumn trends like plaid and tailored suits.

Upon arrival, guests—a diverse gathering of industry notables, including VIP stylist Rose Forde, model and artist Tigerlily Taylor, musicians Beka and Bea, actress Daisy Jelley, and designer Coco Fennell—were welcomed with a final taste of the season, featuring a spicy margarita cocktail from Herradura and champagne from Penfolds. As we enjoyed the last warmth of a pleasant evening before the need for jackets arose after dark, we transitioned into a private dining area for an intimate dinner. Penfold's wine flowed abundantly, and discussions ranged from creative projects and taking risks to nail art, managing work challenges, and—an always engaging topic—the experience of getting clothes altered!

Set at a romantic table adorned with whimsical flowers provided by one of our multi-talented guests, model and florist Julia Campbell Giles (who exclusively uses British-grown, organic, and pesticide-free blooms), we savored starters of beef tartare, seabass and cheddar salad, followed by mains including cod loin, grilled chicken, and a vegetable pot from the garden, along with a selection of quintessentially British desserts such as a contemporary trifle, an Earl Grey custard tart, and a classic chocolate mousse. It’s safe to say we left satisfied, with many still reminiscing about the chicken-fat chips a week later...
