The vibrant leaves and cool autumn breeze merely serve as a backdrop to the fall fashion extravaganza presented by Manhattan’s fashionable crowd. The sidewalks turn into a runway, and the subway turnstiles mark the shift from summer attire to the lush, elegant styles of fall. Walking down Third Avenue is the quintessential New Yorker, sporting '90s-inspired blue straight-leg jeans and a cashmere crewneck, topped off with the fall favorite: a belted trench coat. I've never encountered a more impressive collection of sweaters and jackets than those of Manhattanites.
