Laufey Is Our Ultimate Coquette Beauty Muse—7 "Vintage Romance" Outfits to Inspire You

      Laufey is one of those celebrities who consistently presents beauty looks that are so visually appealing they make our romantic hearts skip a beat. The Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter gained recognition during the pandemic with her silky voice, jazz-influenced sound, distinctive coquette style (think pastel bows, oversized collars, and vintage-inspired minidresses paired with knee-high socks), as well as her social media presence, often showcasing her identical twin and creative director, Junia.       For her appearance at the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion Met Gala in May 2024, Laufey donned a blush-toned dress with layered ruffles, delicate floral details, and a silk bodice created by Nepalese American designer Prabal Gurung, complemented by a flowing veil adorned with notes from a Bach fugue. Her makeup for the evening, by Emily Cheng, featured a range of Ilia products.       For the Chanel S/S 25 show during Paris Fashion Week, she wore a mint ensemble from the Chanel S/S 24 haute couture collection, along with a mauve makeup look created by makeup artist Lili Choi. In a clip shared on Choi's Instagram for Chanel Beauty, Laufey mentioned, "Today's makeup look features lots of pink, flushed cheeks, and black eyeliner to balance it." This ethereal look utilized Chanel Beauty's Ultra Le Teint for a radiant complexion, 31 Le Rouge Matte Lipstick N°13 in Rouge Jersey applied to her lips, Joues Contraste Intense in Rose Ardent for added rosiness, and the Signature de Chanel in N°10 Noir for subtle winged eyeliner.

      At the Lanvin F/W 25 menswear show during Paris Fashion Week, Laufey wore a little black dress with an oversized collar, white stitching, and a bow detail. This marked one of the first occurrences of Laufey sporting red lips (a significant shift from her usual princess-like pinks), beautifully complementing her otherwise low-key makeup. To balance the boldness of her matte red lips, she added a hint of rose-colored blush on her cheekbones, well-groomed brows, and subtle winged eyeliner. Observant fans may also catch a glimpse of her signature pastel eyeliner on her lower lash line.

      Laufey was also seen at the Chanel Haute Couture show, wearing an elegant two-piece tweed ensemble from the brand's S/S 25 collection. Makeup artist Lili Choi created a frosty look combining mauve lips finished with a pink holographic gloss, dusty-rose blush on her cheeks for a flushed effect, winged eyeliner, and pink shadow just below her lower lash line.
