Upon relocating from Florida to New York City four years ago, I made a promise to myself and my mom to adopt a more minimalist lifestyle. My goal was to curb impulse buying, declutter unnecessary belongings, and surround myself only with absolute essentials. Spoiler alert: that didn’t happen. My medicine cabinet is overflowing with products that barely fit, and I’ve had to get quite inventive with storage for all my spur-of-the-moment purchases. (I might even have shoes stashed under my kitchen sink.) Recently, however, I’ve become more discerning about the beauty items that occupy space in my 35-square-foot bathroom. Only certain products deserve to be carefully tucked away in the corner of an overcrowded shelf, and I've detailed my favorites below.
