Byredo's latest eye shadow palette is the makeup version of the famous Bibliothèque fragrance.
Byredo, the renowned beauty brand celebrated for its signature fragrances, stylish candles, and contemporary makeup line, has recently introduced a new eye shadow palette. This isn't just any palette, however; it has been designed by Lucia Pica, an Italian makeup artist who previously served as the global creative makeup and color designer for Chanel and now collaborates with Byredo as their creative image and makeup partner. Named Bibliophilia, this limited-edition palette draws inspiration from "the sensory and emotional atmosphere of a library," capturing the "tactile world of paper and pigment, shadow and light" through its hues.
This isn't Byredo's first foray into beauty products inspired by a passion for literature; their beloved Bibliothèque Eau de Parfum has been a favorite among fans for years. With its notes of plum, cinnamon, leather, violet, birchwood, patchouli, and vanilla, it encapsulates "a world of old books, the aroma of their leather-bound pages lined on dark wood shelves." As a beauty editor who cherishes literature, this new makeup addition feels particularly relevant for fall, aligning perfectly with the season's trend of academia-inspired aesthetics. Below, explore this stylish new eye shadow palette, but be warned: it may just inspire you to spend countless hours in a cozy, dimly-lit library, perusing the pages of long-forgotten books.

There are soft golds reminiscent of gilded book spines, along with parchment and beige that echo the delicate, weathered paper. Shades like inky burgundy and leathery brown are also included. With three finishes—matte, satin, and metallic—these colors are perfect for experimentation and allow for richly textured, layered looks.
I had the opportunity to try it before its official release, and I was impressed by the silky, luxurious pressed powders that blend "with the ease of a page turning." They can be sheered out for a soft touch of color or built up for a more striking effect. As the brand states, "Blending with the ease of a page turning, the ultra-sensorial formula melts into the skin … enabling layered looks that transition from subtle to bold."

The brand envisions it as a collectible item (which I personally think it certainly is chic enough to be). They also see it as a "portal—inviting you to explore a library of colors, where each shade narrates a story."
Creativity, imagination, and experimentation are central to this product. "Bibliophilia becomes your environment, it fosters your personality and imagination: a space you can enter, dream, and lose yourself in, all while evoking a feeling of unconditional intimacy and expansion," Pica expressed in a press release.
Keep in mind that this eye shadow palette is a limited edition release. With its elegant casing, thoughtfully curated shades, and silky textures, I have no doubt this will sell out quickly. In my opinion, it's one of those rare products with high sellout potential. Shop Byredo's Bibliophilia Eye Shadow Palette.
