Everything the Who What Wear Editors Experienced, Wore, Did, and Consumed at NYFW
Although New York Fashion Week officially commenced on Thursday, the celebrations have been in full swing since the week's start, featuring numerous previews, dinners, kickoff parties, and a few early shows (shout out to Rachel Comey, Ralph Lauren, and Brandon Maxwell). As the full schedule kicks off, the energy in the city is electrifying, and our team of fashion editors is diving right in. Over the coming days, we will get our first look at the spring 2026 collections, but while the fashion is at the forefront, our team will also be treating themselves to amazing meals, taking about a thousand Uber, train, and bus rides, and, of course, sporting plenty of stylish outfits along the way.
This week has us traversing Manhattan and heading over to Brooklyn. We’re capturing endless photos, texting in our group chats, and unleashing an Instagram whirlwind on our feeds. To say our screen time has skyrocketed would be an understatement. In essence, we’re busy.
If you've ever been curious about what a day in the life of a fashion editor at NYFW entails, you're in for a treat. I’ve asked each member of our fashion team to share highlights from their days, from their favorite runway looks to the pop culture moments making waves, as well as what they ate, drank, and wore. Keep reading for Team Who What Wear's fashion week highlight reel, and make sure to check back daily for updates.
**Day 4: Sunday, September 14**
**Favorite runway look of the day:** It was genuinely tough to pick a favorite look among the amazing shows I attended, like Ulla Johnson, COS, and Jason Wu. However, if I absolutely had to choose, it would be this COS ensemble featuring a stunning oversized furry coat paired with a matching scarf turtleneck. COS consistently delivers strong outerwear. Plus! You can shop the pieces straight from the COS runway, and trust me—these items will fly off the shelves.
**The trend you're already seeing everywhere:** Feathers! I've noticed feather details and full feather ensembles popping up in multiple collections, including today’s Ulla Johnson show. I’m here for the glamorous vibe.
**Buzziest pop-culture moment of the day:** Our Fall Issue cover star, Jodie Turner-Smith, attended the COS show and mingled with us just before it began.
**The best thing you ate or drank:** COS served champagne before the show, so a toast with the WWW team definitely hit the spot.
**Standout moment from in between the shows:** I cherish those moments just before the show kicks off when the editors and I chat about our favorite looks from the day. It’s always enjoyable to have a good conversation.
**What you wore:** For the COS show, I opted for a dreamy chunky cashmere sweater with exaggerated sleeves, which is the updated version of last year’s viral sweater. I paired it with relaxed trousers from Vince in a lovely olive hue and the gorgeous The Row Margaux bag, sourced from Fashionphile. I also want to highlight my incredibly comfy ruched loafers from Bared.
**Day 3: Saturday, September 13**
**WHO:** Eliza Huber, Senior Fashion Editor
**Favorite runway look of the day:** Joseph Altuzarra truly excelled with his S/S 26 collection. The entire line felt effortlessly wearable yet intentional, particularly this look that combines casual pieces like a cardigan and knit bra with an eye-catching fur skirt. It’s both elegant and playful. While I’m not sure how suitable it would be for summer in New York, I wouldn’t hesitate to wear it.
**Trend you're already seeing everywhere:** Hoop skirts! This trend surprised me, though there have been hints from Alaïa in recent years. I noticed them at Tibi, both as belt attachments and skirts, as well as in a gown version at Altuzarra. I can't wait to experiment with this silhouette come spring.
**Buzziest pop-culture moment:** Kendall Jenner walked in the Khaite show, and naturally, the videos of her strut quickly went viral on social media in the form of Reels and TikToks. We haven’t seen many of the major models on the New York runway this season, so it garnered a lot of attention.
**The best thing you ate and/or drank:** After the Tibi show, I brought along some fashion friends to my all-time favorite spot in SoHo, Crispy Heaven Bakery. The owner, who is incredibly sweet, treated us to a beautiful bread plate filled with their specialties—it was just what we all needed to replenish our energy mid-fashion week.
**Standout moment from in between the shows:** To be honest, we all had a bit of a freak-out moment when we spotted John Tucker, aka Jesse Metcalf, in line at the Ralph Lauren fragrance party downtown. I
