It embodies the comfort of familiarity. I mourn summer for a few days, but then my routine greets me anew. My cozy pillows, the neglected favorite t-shirts in my closet, the joy of being home, and sipping coffee from my cherished mug all welcome me back. My cashmere sweaters have been patiently waiting in my closet, like old friends ready to reconnect. I'm eager to apply a hair mask and dress up again, but not in the theatrical way of spring. I prefer "soft pants" for a bike ride from familiar places to beloved ones, along with layers that provide comfort during the busiest times of the year. These boots—sans tights—are made for quick walking. My mixed metal jewelry clinks softly, adding a hint of sparkle over the suede and layers.
