Reformation has just introduced a new jewelry line—here's what I anticipate will sell out first.
There's a unique thrill when one of our beloved brands takes on something new. A new category signifies an exciting chapter for the brand, along with additional stylish items for us to incorporate into our wardrobes. As a fashion editor with a keen passion for shopping, I am fully engaged, particularly when it's a brand like Reformation. Indeed, today, the editor-favorite label has launched jewelry as its latest category, with input from Clare Waight Keller, who collaborated with the brand last fall to unveil a limited-edition jewelry collection.
Reformation's new jewelry line includes necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets crafted for shoppers who aspire to dress like trendsetters. "Our aim was to curate a jewelry selection that feels cohesive with our clothing while also introducing something fresh to the category from both design and sustainability angles," says Alison Melville, chief innovation officer at Reformation, in an interview with Who What Wear. Many of the pieces draw inspiration from vintage styles, evident in the tassel accents, bold '80s statement studs, cord pendant necklaces, and sculptural designs. "Vintage plays a significant role in Reformation's overall design ethos, which we've embraced here through streamlined art deco pieces and more vibrant styles inspired by the '80s," Melville adds.
In line with the brand's dedication to sustainability, the new jewelry is just as eco-conscious as its much-admired ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, pajamas, and handbags. The collection utilizes archival stones (unused gemstones) and 100% recycled metals, including 24-karat gold, sterling silver, and brass. Essentially, none of the pieces required new mining. "All materials used in the collection are repurposed, featuring recycled metals and gemstones that have remained unused at suppliers for at least five years, ensuring no new production is needed from a material-sourcing perspective," Melville explains. Additionally, this category has been designed with circularity in mind, allowing Reformation jewelry to be recycled through RefRecycling.
