6 Stylish Trends from London Fashion Week You Can Expect to See Everywhere—As Per an Expert
As we near the end of September, we wrap up another incredible London Fashion Week. With a host of new designers featured, and Laura Weir stepping in as the new CEO of the British Fashion Council, the spring/summer 2025 showcase was anticipated to be thrilling—and it certainly delivered. The team at Who What Wear UK was fully present, showcasing and capturing the best street style looks, made possible by Volvo, who shuttled us across London for every show, presentation, and appointment.
In recent years, London’s standing as a fashion hub has faced challenges, with several prominent British designers and brands, such as Alexander McQueen and Victoria Beckham, opting to present in other cities. However, London has consistently pushed forward, maintaining its reputation as a city of disruption, rebellion, and a breeding ground for cool, cult designers and talent. Consequently, the trends that emerge year after year are worth noting. Renowned names like Simone Rocha, Roksanda, Erdem, Dilara Findikoglu, and Richard Quinn presented various interpretations of romance, fantasy, and the empowerment of womanhood. Rocha, a highly anticipated show, featured her signature Victorian-inspired dresses and tailored pieces with exaggerated waistlines, made from floral chiffon and satin, alongside surprising materials like PVC and sequins. Erdem, on the other hand, surprised with a citrus and fuchsia pink color palette, in addition to his typical highly embroidered pieces, which elicited gasps from the front row.

Designers such as Chopova Lowena, Dilara Findikoglu, and Ashley Williams, who have gained cult status at London Fashion Week, leaned into a more punk aesthetic. Chopova Lowena and Williams both drew inspiration from the early 2000s, injecting vibrancy and energy into their collections, accompanied by music that would shake off any lingering fashion week fatigue. Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu’s show became a must-see, so much so that tickets for fashion commentator Lyas's 'watch party' at a nearby pub sold out within minutes. A lineup of models including Naomi Campbell, Amelia Grey, Tish Weinstock, and Harley Weir showcased gothic glamour—think lace, latex, corsetry, chainmail, and even a horsebit buckle headpiece.
Naturally, no discussion about London would be complete without mentioning Burberry. Following an iconic campaign inspired by Glastonbury and British festival culture—featuring Goldie, Liam Gallagher, and Alexa Chung in parkas and plaid wellington boots frolicking in the fields—we anticipated a festival-themed collection for next spring. Creative director Daniel Lee delivered with parka jackets, fringe details, and crochet mini party dresses, along with playful nods to Burberry’s heritage, including a trench coat reimagined in plaid.
These are just my initial observations! If you’re curious about the standout moments that you shouldn’t miss, as well as the trends we predict will take center stage next year, I’ve compiled a list of six trends to watch for in spring/summer 2025.
1. PUFF IT UP
(Image credit: Launchmetrics) Style Notes: We first spotted puffball mini skirts on the opening morning of LFW at Mithridate. While others discussed creative director Daniel Fletcher’s embrace of classic preppy style (which our SEO writer Ava Gilchrist likened to the show Rivals), our group chat buzzed with clips of the pink polka dot puffball mini skirt. We noted similar gathered circular designs at Harris Reed the night before, wondering if this might be a recurring theme throughout the weekend. Let’s just say we were right—this shape strutted down the runway at Keburia, showcasing short, voluminous styles reminiscent of ra-ra skirts in layered tulle. Keburia, like Erdem, Simone Rocha, and Yuhan Wang later in the schedule, also introduced at least one crinoline skirt, capturing the structured essence of 19th-century fashion, layered with light, delicate fabrics like lace and sheer floral chiffon. The message is clear: when it comes to hips, bigger is better in the spring.
Brands to Remember: Simone Rocha, Keburia, Erdem, Mithridate, Harris Reed, Yuhan Wang, Toga. Key Takeaway: Expect crinoline skirts of varied lengths and puff mini-skirts in lively pastel hues.
