Nicola: Authentic.
Brooklyn: Bold.
Who is more likely to try out trends?
NPB: Probably me. While I don’t always focus on trends, I love being inspired by what other women are wearing, whether on the street or Instagram. To me, dressing according to your feelings is always in vogue.
BB: Definitely Nicola. I tend to stick to the classics: button-down shirts, trousers, and pieces that I feel comfortable in. I’ve been experimenting with layering a bit more this fall—adding some color to my neutrals.
Do you influence each other's shopping choices?
NPB: Yes, we always ask for each other's opinions. I trust his taste completely and know he'll be honest about how I look.
BB: All the time! I often ask for her thoughts on a new outfit, and she is constantly shopping for me, finding items I should try.
What’s one piece you’ll always invest in for fall?
NPB: A beautiful long coat that works with everything. I love either a trench or a long leather jacket. Having staple outerwear pieces that I can repeatedly wear is important to me.
BB: A proper topcoat is my go-to. The one from the Express shoot is actually one of my favorites. It's both relaxed and refined, making it perfect for dressing up my casual outfits.
Are there any items you both find yourselves sharing?
NPB: He takes my headbands. I often wear his clothes to bed, and I frequently borrow his oversized sweatshirts (laughs). I love that I can always dig through his closet for something that inspires me.
Do you each have a “uniform” for fall dressing?
NPB: If I adore a piece of clothing, I tend to return to it often. Any staple, like a good jacket or a pair of jeans, becomes my go-to for the season. I can dress them up or down based on the occasion.
BB: Yes, my fall uniform remains pretty consistent. I usually start with a solid button-down or a quality tee as a foundation, then layer with a sweater or overshirt. My go-to bottom choices are dark denim or tailored trousers, along with a good pair of boots.
Do you believe personal style should reflect where one comes from or who one is right now?
NPB: The beauty of personal style lies in its uniqueness. I love evolving my style based on current inspirations. I don’t think there should be any specific rules in fashion and style.
BB: For me, it’s about incorporating styles I know I love while blending in whatever inspires me today, whether that’s a new designer I’ve discovered, a vintage find, or something that pushes me out of my comfort zone. That’s how I keep my style feeling fresh and personal.
What excites you about working with Express on this campaign?
NPB: I always enjoy collaborating with Brooklyn on campaigns, and it was particularly special to partner with Express for a holiday campaign.
BB: For me, it was the effortless feel of the clothes while still being stylish and modern. That balance is precisely what I seek in a brand.
How does this campaign reflect your personal style or day-to-day dressing?
NPB: I love the versatility of the pieces in this campaign. I always go back to my favorite staple items, and this collection has numerous new additions for my closet.
BB: My style is modern and easy, which is exactly what Express delivered. The collection integrates seamlessly into what I would wear every day.
